Keffe D reveals why he appeared to mouth "you rat" at Reggie Wright Jr. after Tupac murder conviction

Duane "Keffe D" Davis recently gave his reasons for mouthing "you rat" towards former Los Angeles police officer Reggie Wright Jr. at his court hearing.

In his first-ever interview following his conviction for the murder of Tupac Shakur, Keffe D spoke to The Hollywood Reporter regarding his connection to Wright.

When asked why he was seen mouthing the words to Wright during the closing arguments, Keffe D told the outlet that their conflict goes back for decades.

According to him, the reason the former officer was upset with him had to do with his past involvement with Wright's sister in 1981.

Keffe D also recalled running a lowrider business at the time and said Wright’s family had connections to people who interfered with the business.

Keffe D describes Reggie Wright Jr. as "very sneaky"

Both individuals met again later when Keffe D was serving time in federal prison, having been sentenced in 1998. He stated that eventually, Wright ended up marrying his old girlfriend while he was in prison.

"I used to run a low rider business, we'd put hydraulics on all the cars."

Keffe D continued:

Then, when I went in the feds in 1998, he married my ex-girlfriend. He was selling me out."

He also claimed that Wright snitched on him and had a part in putting him in jail.

"He's very sneaky."

In the exclusive THR interview, Keffe D was also asked about rumors that Sean "Diddy" Combs was footing the bill for Keffe D's lawyer, but Diddy refused when Keffe D asked him to pick up the tab. Keffe D claimed:

"I was trying to get him to pay. His daughters go to a school where I knew the football coach and athletic director, so I told him to tell him to at least come and help me out. But I couldn't get a hold of him. I tried to get Dr. Dre to pay too, but I couldn't reach him. He never would've met Suge if not for me."

Keffe D's comments arrive in the wake of the proceedings connected to the case involving Shakur's death.

The rapper was killed in September 1996 in Las Vegas after he was shot at from a BMW in which he was traveling after watching a Mike Tyson boxing fight.

Shakur died a few days later. He was 25.

Keffe D has long been linked to the case and previously acknowledged being inside the vehicle during the shooting. His conviction marked a major development in the investigation, which remained unsolved for decades before his arrest in 2023.
