Kim Kardashian revealed a new health diagnosis in the trailer for Season 8 of The Kardashians.In the trailer, released Thursday, Sept. 17, the reality TV star tells her family she has esophagitis, a condition that involves inflammation of the tissue lining the esophagus. Someone off camera asks whether her condition is related to what her father, Robert Kardashian, died from.Robert Kardashian died from esophageal cancer in 2003 at age 59. His history adds an emotional element to Kim’s diagnosis, though esophagitis itself is not the same as esophageal cancer.In fact, the Kardashian family members played a role in opening the Robert G. It occurs when stomach acid moves back into the esophagus and irritates its lining. Symptoms often include heartburn and regurgitation.Nevertheless, Spechler pointed out that esophagitis is only a minor risk factor for esophageal cancer. He also said women are less likely than men to get Barrett’s esophagus or esophageal cancer.“Most patients who have GERD and reflux esophagitis do not have Barrett’s esophagus, and most patients with Barrett’s esophagus do not develop cancer.”The trailer doesn’t reveal which form of esophagitis she has or provide further details about her hospital stay.
