On Thursday, Fox News talk show host Lara Trump appeared on Fox & Friends and offered her analysis on the midterm election results. She blamed Joe Biden and American impatience for the Republican defeat and claimed that Donald Trump’s policies needed more time to pay off.

“The way this president has set things up will not take effect immediately. It takes a long time to rebuild from the Biden years, from the destruction the Democrats themselves caused to this country,” Lara, who is married to Eric Trump, stated.

The U.S. President’s daughter-in-law also blamed the “clickbait culture” and insisted that Trump’s “long-term play” is “very tough” in a society where people need “instant gratification.”

“Nonetheless, I appreciate what the president has done, and I think Americans down the road will as well,” Lara Trump, 44, added.

Referencing Trump’s comment that he would “do it again” pertaining to the Iran war, Lara said:

“I think you had to give President Trump a lot of credit. He knew this would be disadvantageous; it was a political loser for him, and he did it anyway.”

Meanwhile, according to The Daily Beast, Donald Trump himself often showed impatience and posted clickbait content on social media. In August alone, he wrote over 1,000 posts on Truth Social, averaging nearly 33 a day. Over Labor Day weekend, he made more than 100 posts featuring AI-generated images.

Exploring Lara Trump and Donald Trump’s mutual praises

In 2024, Donald Trump endorsed Lara Trump and North Carolina Republican Michael Whatley as the co-chairs of the Republican National Committee.

Trump said that Whatley did a “great job in his home state” and was committed to “election integrity.” Additionally, he endorsed Lara Trump as a “very talented” woman and said:

“Lara is an extremely talented communicator and is dedicated to all that MAGA stands for.”

Eventually, Lara and Michael served as the co-chairs of the RNC for nine months starting in March 2024. Later, she briefly considered running for the Senate seat in North Carolina after the retirement of Thom Tillis. Eventually, she stuck with her journalism and began hosting My View with Lara Trump on Fox News in February 2025. She often uses the platform to speak highly of her father-in-law’s presidency.

On November 3, Lara Trump’s former co-chair Michael Whatley lost to Democratic candidate Roy Cooper for the North Carolina Senate. A month before the election, President Trump stood at a campaign rally in Greenville, NC, to support Whatley and said:

“Michael and Lara were unbeatable. And we won everything.”

Earlier, the House Oversight Committee Democrats publicly disclosed that they wanted to investigate the Trump family’s crypto ventures, including the involvement of Lara’s husband Eric and Don Jr. Now that Democrats have won both the Senate and the House of Representatives, they would have the power to do so and subpoena the Trump brothers, beginning in January.

U.S. Representative Robert Garcia (D-CA), who oversees the House Oversight Committee, said in an interview on Wednesday:

“The Trump crime family is the top of our investigative priorities.”

Before that, on Election night, Garcia asked the Trumps to “lawyer up.”

Donald, Eric, and Lara Trump have yet to address the warning. However, President Trump has been crashing out on Truth Social ever since the midterm defeat. In one post, he claimed that if he were on the ballot, his party would have won in a “landslide.” In another, he called himself “Mr. Veto” and even posted an image of a MAGA cap with the words “VETO” written over it, insinuating his intention to veto Democratic legislation.
