Lindsay Clancy’s attorney makes public plea to President Trump for pardon after mistrial

The high-profile and notorious Lindsay Clancy murder case took a different turn on September 4, 2026, after it concluded in a mistrial as a jury comprising 12 individuals could not reach a verdict following seven days of intense discussion.

According to NBC News, Kevin Reddington, who is Lindsay Clancy's lawyer, opened up on ABC's Good Morning America on September 8, 2026, after his client's murder trial concluded in a mistrial.

On Tuesday's episode of Good Morning America, Reddington expressed his serious concern regarding his client and, keeping in mind Clancy's well-being, mentioned Donald Trump, who had previously shared his opinion on the September 4 mistrial. Reddington then made a public plea to him to consider a presidential pardon. Reddington on Good Morning America said:

"I’d like to say that perhaps Donald Trump, who felt compelled to speak out on this case. Mr. President, I would hope that you would consider this young lady. The type of person she is, what she has been through, and consider a pardon."

According to NBC News, Clancy was charged with murder in 2023 after she reportedly killed her three children, two sons and a daughter, all of whom were under 5 years old, by strangling them at their residence in Massachusetts. After strangling her children, Clancy, in an attempt to commit suicide, jumped out of the window, paralyzing herself.

After Kevin Reddington requested that President Donald Trump consider a pardon for his client, Lindsay Clancy, a representative of the White House stated that pardons by the President are only applicable to a federal conviction.

Kevin Reddington said he hopes to work with District Attorney Timothy Cruz regarding the Lindsay Clancy murder case

According to NBC News, Kevin Reddington, who, during Lindsay Clancy's trial, argued that his client at the time was dealing with postpartum psychosis and acting on auditory hallucinations, which eventually led her to kill her kids, stated that he looks forward to collaborating with Timothy Cruz, the District Attorney, on the Clancy murder case. Reddington said on Good Morning America:

"I hope, however, after sitting through this trial and seeing the evidence that was presented from the government, as well as from the defense, that [Cruz] would revisit that issue and hopefully would be able to work something out that would be acceptable to both sides."

Reddington further added:
