Marjorie Taylor Greene has made multiple headlines recently, as the former Georgia congresswoman stepped up to bat for Taylor Swift following President Donald Trump's latest comments about the thirty-six-year-old pop star. Greene, who had previously been one of Trump's most vocal supporters before denouncing his administration, made her remarks on the July 7 episode of The View.Greene opened up about Taylor Swift's star-studded Madison Square Garden wedding to Travis Kelce, saying,"First of all, congratulations to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. I thought it was fantastic. I think it's absolutely absurd for the eighty-year-old president of the United States to attack one of the most popular musicians and talented women who's so generous to her staff and takes care of them," she said.Cohost Joy Behar interjected that Trump "thinks he's more popular than her." That being said, Greene didn't disagree, and went on to share her take on why the president repeatedly singles Taylor Swift out."I think that's why he's always picking on her because he would like to be. Her concerts turn out massive amounts of people, more so than, tragically, [Trump's Great American State Fair]" in Washington, D.C.," Greene explained.Marjorie Taylor Greene, departs her office in the Rayburn House Office Building on November 17, 2025 in Washington, DC - Source: GettyTrump claims he outranks Taylor Swift as her wedding takes over social media:Taylor Swift attends the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Awards at Dolby Theatre on March 26, 2026 in Hollywood, California - Source: GettyAs per a report shared by Us Weekly, Greene and Behar were referring to remarks Trump had made earlier that week. During a Monday, July 7 press conference at the White House, Trump went on a tangent about his popularity on TikTok while addressing the controversial topic of China's involvement with the platform in the U.S. Trump put the question directly to reporters."It was announced about two days ago. The new numbers just came out. You know who the No. 1 person in TikTok is by far?" he asked. He then answered his own question. "Trump, me. I'm No. 1 in TikTok by far," he added.Trump briefly acknowledged that some people are worried about the "dangers" of TikTok, including allegations that the Chinese government is "spying" on users. He noted that he has heard concerns that the platform is "a tremendous danger because of the influence." That being said, Trump argued that his own presence on the app was doing the opposite of causing harm."I'm saying all things like, 'I love our country, we have to stop Communism,'" he said.Trump once again alleged that "I was number one by a lot" on the social media site, before adding, "So I guess, I don't know, maybe they are bad, maybe they are not." He also noted that the "one thing" he does know about TikTok is that "great American people, tremendous business people, and companies bought it."Before moving on to the next topic, Trump reiterated his standing on the platform, saying,"I'm No. 1 on TikTok. I think it helped me win the election in a landslide if you want to know the truth," he said.White House mocks Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding:Taylor Swift celebrates with Travis Kelce #87 of the Kansas City Chiefs after defeating the Buffalo Bills 32-29 in the AFC Championship Game at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium on January 26, 2025 in Kansas City, Missouri - Source: GettyAs per a report shared by Billboard, the White House also weighed in on Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding. The couple tied the knot on July 3 at New York's Madison Square Garden, and it didn't take long for the White House to respond on social media. That being said, given Trump's long history of taking shots at the pop superstar, the post came as little surprise. The White House shared an edited image on X in which the iconic venue's digital marquee had been altered to read, "Trump Is Your President." The White House captioned the meme,"IT'S HAPPENED!!!" they wrote. The post was a direct reference to the real marquee outside Madison Square Garden, which the venue had shared on Instagram to mark the occasion. The original sign told a very different story. It read,"JUST&T MARRIED!" in black lettering against a pink background, confirming the couple had wed.
