On Saturday, the president shared a post on social media and argued that many people feel that the words "Artificial Intelligence" are inaccurate and "ineloquent." The alternatives the president gave were “Superior Intelligence,” “Extreme Intelligence,” and “Supreme Intelligence." The POTUS invited the public to choose from the three names in a poll.On Sunday, Trump took to X and shared an updated poll, removing "Supreme Intelligence" from the options after it received the least endorsement. Trump wrote:"'Supreme Intelligence,' probably because of its relationship to the Supreme Court, is losing badly to both 'Superior' and 'Extreme Intelligence.' Therefore, we are going to take 'Supreme Intelligence' OUT, deleting it as a qualifier, and let you vote for the final two: Superior Intelligence, or Extreme Intelligence. In a series of Truth Social posts on September 14, the president called the alarm over AI a "hoax" and compared it with the warnings about global warming. On September 15, in his X post, Matt Walsh shared thoughts on dismissing AI concerns as a "hoax." He wrote:"As I've said, I think there's probably some truth to the idea that AI companies may be incentivized to inflate the dangers of their product for financial and strategic reasons. However, when all of the major players in an industry are telling us, flat out, that the thing they're building could be very dangerous, it seems ridiculous to write their warnings off completely. If a guy built a weird contraption, handed it to me, and said, 'Careful, it might kill you,' I'm going to tend to take his warning seriously. It might be a hoax, sure, but if I know considerably less about the contraption than the guy who built it, I'm probably not going to just assume it's a hoax."The Daily Wire host said that he could not find instances in history where industry insiders themselves warned that their own product "might be catastrophic for mankind." Walsh further disputed parallels drawn between AI concerns and climate warnings. He said:"The climate alarmists have said that about the fossil fuel industry, for example, but the climate alarmists are not inside the industry. Notably, the fossil fuel industry itself has generally disagreed with their assessments. That's why the climate alarmism comparisons here just don't hold water.
