On October 30, Matt Walsh reacted to Virginia governor Abigail Spanberger’s “diverse” cabinet picture amid backlash. Earlier, on October 29, Abigail shared a picture of her cabinet and praised them as the “hardest-working” cabinet in Virginia’s history. She also referred to her cabinet as the “most diverse,” which garnered much attention online.

Spanberger wrote:

“I’m proud to have the most talented, hardest-working cabinet in Virginia’s history. They are also the most diverse cabinet Virginia has ever seen.”

Abigail added:

“Every single one of our cabinet secretaries were selected because they’re the best of the best in their respective fields. They also bring invaluable perspectives from across the Commonwealth — from Danville, Hampton Roads, Richmond, NOVA, and more.”

Lastly, the Virginia governor said that she is grateful to work with such a dedicated team of cabinet officials.

“I’m grateful to get to work with these incredibly dedicated, hard-working, and talented cabinet officials to serve the Commonwealth of Virginia.”

The political commentator, Matt Walsh, stressed the governor’s “diverse” claim and wrote that it means “no white men.” Walsh satirically commended Abigail for so “explicitly” showcasing alleged discrimination against ‘white men.’ He wrote:

“We have always known that ‘diverse’ just means ‘no white men’ but it's nice to have Spanberger come out and illustrate the point so explicitly. By this definition, six black people and two middle-aged white women is ‘the most diverse cabinet ever seen.’”

Elon Musk slammed Abigail Spanberger for her cabinet post

The Tesla mogul blasted Abigail Spanberger for inadequate representation of white men in the cabinet. Elon Musk replied to the governor, saying:

“You are utterly racist and sexist regarding White men. Shame on you!”

Many other figures like US Rep. Brandon Gill, Katie Miller, Jack Posobiec, Lauren Chen, and Adam Carolla called out Abigail Spanberger for calling her cabinet “diverse” with zero representation of ‘white men.’

Brandon Gill wrote that the cabinet looked just the “opposite” of diverse. Katie Miller also raised the question of why white men were not included in the cabinet, considering that approximately 30% of Virginia’s residents are white men.

The governor’s post garnered over 4.4 million views on X and faced much backlash for her post.
