EJAE and Sam Kim have tied the knot in Seoul, celebrating their marriage in a garden ceremony at a home filled with special family memories.Footage from the couple’s wedding on Oct. 17 was released by Vogue on the 19th, along with an interview in which the newlyweds shared details about their ceremony.The couple originally planned to marry in California in November but decided to move the wedding to South Korea and bring the date forward to October.“We had only about four months left to prepare for the wedding. It was hectic and a bit stressful, but thanks to preparing together, everything fell perfectly into place.”The location held particular significance for the singer, who rose to fame as the singing voice behind Rumi from the animated film KPop Demon Hunters. The ceremony took place at a Seoul home where her grandfather, veteran actor Shin Young Kyun, once lived.EJAE recalled spending much of her childhood in its garden and walking up a hill behind the house with him."My grandparents lived here when I was young. Shin and his wife, Kim Sun Hee, attended to celebrate the couple’s union.EJAE said her grandparents have been married for 70 years, making their participation in the ritual especially “meaningful.”"It was more meaningful than anything that they initiated the paebaek ceremony."Family members and friends gathered in the garden to witness the ceremony. She went on to say how momentous their presence was as she walked toward her husband.“I will never forget the moment I walked toward my groom, surrounded by love and support from my closest friends and family.”Meanwhile, EJAE also thanked guests who traveled from around the world to attend, adding she was proud everyone had enjoyed the celebration."I am proud that everyone had a truly enjoyable time at our wedding. We are sincerely grateful to the family and friends who came from all over the world to celebrate our marriage."EJAE and Sam Kim were together for nine years. They first met in 2017 as colleagues and songwriting partners. They got engaged in 2023.Several times, EJAE shared a glimpse of her relationship with her beau in her previous interviews. In her conversation with Vulture in October 2025, she mentioned that the fights she had with Sam Kim during their long-distance relationship inspired her to write Psycho (Red Velvet)."Gosh, there’s another song about him that’s a love song. I should release that. I will! But when you’re in pain, you’re more vulnerable. Maybe that’s why I write songs during that time."The singer added that her partner was “truly” her muse.
