Blade is a forthcoming film in the superhero genre that has been in development for a while. The film was first announced at the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con by Mahershala Ali. Since then, there have been multiple delays in the project.
Recently, Mia Goth, who was also rumored to be associated with the film, spoke about it. When asked about the film, the actress said,
"I really don't have any information"
Her comment hints at the cast members not being made aware of any new developments. Let's get into the details of Goth's comment and find out more about the long-delayed film.
Mia Goth talks about Blade

Mia Goth recently appeared on Josh Horowitz's Happy Sad Confused podcast, where she was asked about Blade. The actress said that she doesn't have information regarding the long-delayed film.
"I mean, I don't know what's going on with that. I think that they want to make it and it's such an important film for them that they're taking their time with it."
She continued,
"I really don't have an information. I don't know why you know it's taken the time that it has. But it's...you know, we will see. We will see. It's something..yeah we will see."
When asked if she was excited to play the character of Lilith in Blade, Goth responded:
"Yeah I mean it never really...I auditioned for that too actually. I auditioned for that and I flew to Atlanta and we did a chemistry test between Mahershala and I and we did a costume fitting and a wig fitting and I was very excited in the direction that it was going. It was very cool and Mahershala had such an interesting take on it. He was great. And then it just you know unraveled from there, unfortunately."
Goth is supposed to play the role of Lilith in the film, who is a supervillain in the comic books. In the storyline, the character tries to take the blood of Blade's own daughter.
The film is written by Eric Pearson, who is known for penning titles like Thor: Ragnarok and Black Widow for Marvel. It was announced in 2019 and was further delayed by the 2023 Hollywood strike.
In a 2024 Deadline interview, Goth said:
[The makers] really care, they do. They want to make a great movie. That’s the sense that I get from them and that feels good.”
