Nicki Minaj says Anthony Fauci has lost trust of “innocent people” as she mocks him in scathing tweet

Nicki Minaj has made headlines recently, as the forty-three-year-old rapper unleashed a post on X targeting Dr. Anthony Fauci on July 30, days after he sat before a U.S. Senate committee. Minaj, famous for her track "Anaconda," did not mince her words.

"Feeding tubes will be his portion," she wrote.

"He will lose the ability to speak & then & only then will he feel the collective pain & long term ramifications he caused to new borns, young children who are still trying to become acclimated into society & schools, traumatized pregnant women who couldn't even have family in the delivery rooms & visits, the elderly who died alone & afraid, young ppl still struggling w/mental health, suicide, people turned away from hospitals at their most vulnerable moments, the trust that is now gone from innocent people toward their governments forever, billions of stolen money from hard working tax payers via con artists," she added.

Alongside the post, Nicki Minaj dug up a 2021 article in which Fauci, now eighty-five years old, had publicly warned her against spreading vaccine doubt to her millions of followers. As per a report shared by Us Weekly, Fauci was still heading up the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the time.

Nicki Minaj shared an AI-generated image of Fauci dressed in a pink and purple striped sweater, hunched over a diary, as part of her post on X. The fake photograph was seemingly intended to parody the COVID-19 pandemic-era journals Fauci kept, which Senate Homeland Security Committee Chairman Rand Paul had recently made public.

"I've been struggling to find the humor in any of this," Minaj wrote.

"God bless everyone who made it to the other side. You're stronger than you thought. God is in control."

The post also reignited a years-old dispute between the two. As per a report shared by The Washington Post, back in 2021, Fauci pushed back after Nicki Minaj tweeted about her cousin's friend in Trinidad who allegedly became impotent following his COVID-19 vaccination, a claim that caused a widespread social media stir. Minaj had written,

"My cousin in Trinidad won't get the vaccine cuz his friend got it & became impotent. His testicles became swollen. His friend was weeks away from getting married, now the girl called off the wedding. So just pray on it & make sure you're comfortable with ur decision, not bullied."

When CNN's Jake Tapper asked Fauci directly about Minaj's claim, the response was blunt.

"The answer to that, Jake, is a resounding no," Fauci said.

"There's no evidence that it happens, nor is there any mechanistic reason to imagine that it would happen. So the answer to your question is no," he added.

Nicki Minaj wasn't done. She also shared a video on X where she mimicked Fauci writing in his diary, this time putting words in his mouth.

"They say I'm sexier than Tyra Banks. Julia Roberts gasped when she saw how handsome I was. Brad Pitt played me on SNL," she shared.

"Never mind that I sent millions of children back years on their education … The elderly are alone and afraid, dying by themselves. If anyone asks questions, me and my gang ruins their lives," she continued.

The mockery came on the heels of a tense Senate appearance. As per a report shared by Us Weekly, Fauci repeatedly invoked the Fifth Amendment to avoid answering hostile questioning from Republicans when he appeared before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, led by Senator Rand Paul, sixty-three years old, on Wednesday, July 29. Republican lawmakers, led by Representative Rich McCormick of Georgia, have since threatened legislation that would bar Fauci from ever serving in government again.

As per the same report shared by Us Weekly, Republicans have been sharply critical of Fauci's pro-vaccine, social distancing and masking policies throughout the pandemic. Former president Joe Biden gave Fauci a preemptive pardon in January 2025, covering his federal government work between January 1, 2014, and January 19, 2025, amid fears the physician could face retribution from the incoming Donald Trump administration.

That being said, Fauci continues to have passionate defenders who champion his nearly forty years of public health work as director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. He held the role from 1984 to 2022, enjoying bipartisan support for much of that time, before briefly serving as Biden's chief medical advisor.
