According to a recent article by US Magazine, Paul Walter Hauser announced on January 26 his collaboration with Cameo with the motive of raising money for James Van Der Beek's cancer treatment.

James Van Der Beek was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 cancer. Through his efforts, Hauser aims to raise $20,000 by March 01, 2026. Van Der Beek began selling his personal items to cover the cost of his treatment.

Paul Walter Hauser took to Instagram on Monday to express his views about Van Der Beek's situation and asked his followers to show their love and help him with the cause.

“James Van Der Beek started selling his old stuff from his past acting jobs to pay for his colorectal cancer treatments, and it didn’t sit well with me. I am an actor and father of 3 children, and I want them inheriting my trinkets/wardrobe/memorabilia someday. I wouldn’t want to auction off a Stingray shirt or Marvel script to make ends meet for treatment.”

His initiative includes making customized cameo videos in order to give Van Der Beek direct financial support.

To maintain "our support of a fellow actor, father, and husband who has rolled a painful pair of dice these last couple years." Hauser will also auction off "personal items" from famous friends like Josh Gad, Jimmy Kimmel, Beck Lynch, and "many many more."

By "arming" himself with "facts and receipts at the ready," Hauser also outwitted anyone who might doubt his intentions.

"Before the Internet trolls wipe their saliva and attack their keyboards to question why I chose to raise money for this, and not something they deem worthy of time/efforts/funding, know that I've done stand-up comedy for Relay for Life's Cancer Charity Walk, I've donated my own earnings to organizations like Smile Train and Neighborly, and recently helped raise over $100,000 for ServeLA through my appearance on Celebrity Wheel of Fortune," Paul Walter Hauser wrote on his Instagram

About Paul Walter Hauser and his latest release

Paul Walter Hauser's last release was The Luckiest Man in America, which was released in 2024. It is directed and co-written by Samir Oliveros. The plot of the story revolves around the true story of a man who exploited the 1980s game show Press Your Luck to earn a massive jackpot.

During an interview, Hauser gave details about the movie and shared some interesting details about himself as well. He shared that one of the most ridiculous things he read online about himself is people thinking that his net worth is $20 million.

He further said that most actors are still struggling and that these net worth articles are not entirely accurate. On being asked about his preparation for the movie, Hauser mentioned that he watched YouTube videos and clips.

Later on, Paul Hauser discovered that he had been a con artist his entire life. The entire game show he did, Press Your Luck, was probably the most honest day's labor he had ever done.

He also gave insights about his social media algorithm and said that his TikTok feed is full of guys playing acoustic guitar. He further said that he never buys anything from TikTok.
