Perez Hilton posted about death of Van Life influencer Joe Felz hours before TikTok self harm livestream 

Perez Hilton has made multiple headlines recently, as police reportedly responded to his Miami home after the celebrity gossip blogger appeared to be harming himself during a TikTok livestream. Before the incident, Hilton had posted about Van Life influencer Joe Felz, who passed away at forty years old.

Joe Felz's girlfriend, Alxzondra, took to Instagram on Monday to share the heartbreaking news.

"With word rapidly spreading, I wanted to put out a formal statement. Joe Felz has left this earth and has finally found his free."

For those unfamiliar with Felz, he rose to fame on social media for documenting life living out of a van. His content covered travel, the ins and outs of owning a business, and his spirituality. Across Instagram and Facebook, he had amassed more than 1.4 million followers.

Coming back to Perez Hilton, graphic clips were later reposted across social media. Hilton appeared distressed and bloodied during the livestream.

Miami-Dade County Sheriff's Office explains why deputies chose not to enter Perez Hilton's home:

Multiple calls came into the Miami-Dade County Sheriff's Office about a person livestreaming acts of self-harm, as per a statement the office shared with Newsweek. Deputies responded to Hilton's home, spoke with family members who were present at the scene, and after confirming he was alone inside, chose to pull back rather than force entry.

"In many incidents involving a person experiencing a mental health crisis or actively harming themselves, deputies prioritize de-escalation by creating time, distance, and opportunities for communication," the statement read.

The office also addressed why stepping back wasn't the same as stepping away, adding that

"Unless there is an immediate threat to others, slowing the situation and utilizing crisis intervention techniques can reduce the likelihood of a suicide-by-cop encounter and minimize the risk of injury to the individual, deputies, and the public."

Deputies continued monitoring the situation after disengaging.

Perez Hilton transported to hospital after livestream incident as his near-death health battle from earlier this year is revisited:

Reporters from local news station NBC6 who were present at the scene later reported that a man, believed to be Perez Hilton, was seen being taken away in an ambulance. The Sheriff's Office confirmed to TMZ that Perez Hilton had been safely recovered and transported by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to a local hospital, where he was receiving medical attention.

Perez Hilton, who is a single father of three children, had previously opened up about a frightening health scare earlier this year, sharing a lengthy video on Instagram that he had spent three weeks in hospital. What started as the flu had developed into an ulcer, then a perforation, and then Sepsis, a situation which had left his body in a critical state.

"The Sepsis just kept working and my body kept falling apart. Then one night with rapid response came 'cause my heart got out of control. They had to put me on heart medications. And then I developed another infection in the hospital," he explained.

"It was just such a slow process. I mean, two weeks of just sickness and then another week of getting better before I was released. And that last week was hell because I had already been in the hospital two weeks by then. I was like, 'I just wanna go home. I just want to be with my babies,'" he added.

Once released, Perez Hilton shared that the experience led him to the realization that God had presented Himself to him during those weeks in hospital.

"It was real and this has been life-changing. I'm so grateful," he said.

"I'm excited to start taking the kids to church every week. And to just know that God is real. I don't have to hope to believe. I know now," he added.

Joe Felz's girlfriend Alxzondra slams false narratives circulating on social media following his death:

In his report about Joe Felz, Perez Hilton also included statements from Alxzondra, who asked for space and time to grieve.

"I don't have many words right now, but I ask that you please give myself, Joe's family, and all of his loved ones the space and time needed to process a loss of this magnitude," she shared.

Alxzondra, who didn't specify how the Georgia-based influencer passed away, also shared a message from a loved one identified as Brandy, hoping everyone would keep it in mind.

"The manner in which something occurs should never overshadow the end result or the legacy that is left behind. Think before you speak. Consider who will hear your words, and honor those who have yet to speak."

She concluded her statement by thanking supporters before later returning to address the speculation head on.

"Thank you for your prayers, your love, your understanding, and for remembering Joe for the life he lived."

In a follow up post, Alxzondra slammed the "false narratives" circulating on social media, adding that

"What is not helping, and what Joe would have been absolutely ashamed and disgusted by, are the false narratives, assumptions, and speculation that are already circulating."
