Daughter of tech billionaire Eric Lefkofsky, singer Stella Lefty is facing the heat online after being reportedly accused of song plagiarism. News outlet Dexerto took to its official X (formerly Twitter) handle and shared a post about Stella, 24, who is reportedly being accused of copying a song by another artist.

Stella Lefty, who was catapulted to fame after some of her original compositions, such as Thinking Bout You, and song clips went viral on TikTok in early 2026, has reportedly gained the nickname "Stella Thefty" following the song-copying allegations.

According to Dexerto, Stella's song Why Wouldn't We from her debut album Long Way Home, which dropped on August 21, 2026, is currently being compared to prominent country musician Blake Shelton's 2017 hit track I'll Name The Dogs.

While there have been some other instances where her fans and listeners have noted similarities between Stella's songs and songs by other artists, the internet is not taking the matter lightly and has begun to reportedly accuse her of plagiarism. A user on X regarding the matter wrote:

As Lefty's originality as a musician is under the microscope, according to News Nation, the newly famous singer-songwriter has also reportedly been accused of copying songs by other artists such as Noah Kahan and Miley Cyrus.

As cited by News Nation, according to Stereogum, Lefty's hit song Boston sounds similar to Kahan's popular track Stick Season, released in 2022. There have also been reports by Brobible that the melody of Stella Lefty's song Why Wouldn't We sounds a lot like the song The Climb by Miley Cyrus.
