On February 19, Prince Andrew was taken into custody for misconduct in public office. Following Prince Andrew’s arrest, President Trump reacted to his arrest when a reporter asked a question about him. While talking to reporters, President Trump said that Andrew’s arrest is a ‘shame.’

“I think it’s a shame. I think it’s very sad, I think it’s so sad for the royal family. It’s very, very sad,” President Trump told reporters on Thursday.

He further mentioned King Charles and called him a ‘fantastic’ man. He went on to say that it’s a sad thing, and highlighted King Charles upcoming US visit.

“And to see what’s going on with his brother, obviously, coming to our country very soon and he’s a fantastic man… king. So I think it’s a sad thing.”

King Charles is slated to visit the US in April this year, as reported by the British Press.

Further, while talking toa Fox News reporter, President Trump commented on Jeffrey Epstein. He said that no one talked about Epstein when he was alive, and everyone is speaking of him when he is no more.

“It’s really interesting because nobody used to speak about Epstein when he was alive, but now they speak,” Trump claimed, moving on from Andrew’s arrest.

President Trump further claimed that Jeffrey Epstein was against him.

“But I’m the one who can talk about it because I’ve been totally exonerated. I did nothing. In fact, the opposite—he was against me. He was fighting me in the election, which I just found out from the last 3 million pages of documents,” he added.

Police search at the former Prince Andrew’s properties

As per the BBC, the UK police authorities arrested Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and carried out a search operation at his properties in Berkshire and Norfolk. He has been accused of misusing his public position.

The arrest came shortly after Epstein's records came out. As per early reports, Andrew has shared the UK government’s sensitive information with Jeffrey Epstein.

The police statement read:

"As part of the investigation, we have today (19/2) arrested a man in his sixties from Norfolk on suspicion of misconduct in public office and are carrying out searches at addresses in Berkshire and Norfolk. The man remains in police custody at this time.

It continued as:

"We will not be naming the arrested man, as per national guidance. Please also remember that this case is now active so care should be taken with any publication to avoid being in contempt of court."

As of this writing, ex-Prince Andrew has been released after spending around 11 hours in custody. He was seen walking free from the police station. It’s also important to note that more details about the arrest have been kept under wraps for now.
