The 2026 Grammy Awards audience watched Justin Bieber deliver a haunting version of Yukon while dressed in little more than shorts and socks, shifting the full focus on the music and his stage presence.

At the much-anticipated ceremony, held at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Feb. 1, the 31-year-old pop superstar commanded the stage with his raw performance of his 2025 hit, Yukon, a track off his album Swag.

Clad in only silver shorts and black socks, showing off his tattoos, Justin Bieber slung a lilac-hued guitar around his shoulders as he serenaded the audience.

At one point during his performance, he stopped in front of the mirror to gaze at his reflection. The camera also shifted to his wife, Hailey Bieber, who was earnestly watching her husband onstage.

As he concluded, the singer-songwriter received a standing ovation, with the camera once again in full focus on Hailey. The host and comedian Trevor Noah also aired his praise for the pop star.

"Wow. Justin Bieber, what a captivating performance. Keep it going for Justin Bieber, everybody. The feeling in the room was amazing."

At the same time, social media erupted in various reactions to his performance.

"Wow… Justin really went full 'less is more' tonight #GRAMMYs," one wrote on X/Twitter.
"Being shirtless in boxers and singing while looking in the mirror reflects the album’s introspective and vulnerable concept. The mirror detail shows it was a performance for himself, not the outside world, felt like he was singing alone at home, deeply tied to the album’s theme," another shared.
"If the song hits, no one talks about the outfit. If not, this is what people remember," a fan commented.
"That does not matter as long as he is singing with heart," an internet user posted.

What's next for Justin Bieber after 2026 Grammy Awards nominations

Released in July 2025, Justin Bieber's Yukon is a contemplative track that uses the GMC Yukon SUV, which is said to be used as a metaphor that shares rare insights into his intimate memories and relationship with Hailey. In the record, he sings:

"I just wanna be the one to give you what you want / I could put you in the Yves Saint Laurent / Riding round town with your hair done up / I know you like it when I tell you what you want / Keep you laying in the bed until tomorrow."

Justin Bieber was nominated under four categories at the 2026 Grammy Awards: Album of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Album, Best R&B Performance, and Best Pop Solo Performance.

Two years after cancelling his Justice world tour due to health concerns, Bieber will once again grace the global stage at Coachella in April 2026, headlining alongside Sabrina Carpenter and Karol G. Anyma will close the music and arts festival.

While the singer didn't take home a title from this year's ceremony, he and Hailey became standouts for their subtle yet loud statement when they strutted the red carpet wearing matching "ICE OUT" pins.

Meanwhile, apart from the Biebers, other celebrities who shared the same statement were Kehlani, Bad Bunny (whose DtMF won the Best Música Urbana album), and a shade from this year's Best New Artist, Olivia Dean, who honored her roots in her acceptance speech.
