Sahara Ray, Australian model and swimwear designer, has died at 34, her family disclosed on Monday, Oct. 19.

Sahara Ray died on Sunday night in a hospital surrounded by loved ones, her family revealed to TMZ.

"She passed away last night surrounded by family at the hospital. She was so loved.”

Her cause of death has not been publicly disclosed.

The entrepreneur gained recognition in the fashion industry through her swimwear designs and social media presence.

Sahara Ray opened up about Guillain-Barré syndrome

Sahara Ray had previously spoken about serious health challenges.

The model revealed in 2024 that she was suffering from Guillain-Barré syndrome, which, according to Mayo Clinic, is:

"a condition in which the body's immune system attacks the nerves. It can cause weakness, numbness or paralysis."

The site adds that the syndrome's exact cause is unknown, and that there is no known cure for it.

Meanwhile, Sahara Ray added that she had lingering repercussions from a car accident that happened to her years back, where she was struck by a drunk driver.

She further discussed the physical challenges she faced during her recovery period. At the time, she shared:

"This is really hard to deal with, and I've been trying to keep a good attitude and be hopeful that my feeling comes back, but there's always a chance it just stays like this.”

She further elaborated that she had been paralyzed "from the tops of my thighs all the way down to my upper feet" and was "primarily in a wheelchair" as she couldn't "walk at all."

Sahara Ray managed to recover the mobility of her legs within the next several months.

In addition, she became pregnant for the first time and had her daughter Snow in January.

Often, she talked about her motherhood journey on social media. Her latest Instagram post was from July, which showed the baby girl.

Sahara Ray's reported relationship with Justin Bieber sparks renewed interest

News of her death has brought into focus her personal life, particularly her reported connection to Justin Bieber.

However, there is little information on the rumored romance. Their connection drew public attention in 2016, when photos showed the pair together during a Hawaii trip.

According to TMZ, Sahara Ray was pictured vacationing with the famous singer in 2016.

USA Today described her as the singer's ex, while Page Six reported that the two had been spotted skinny-dipping during their trip.

Neither party confirmed a romantic relationship.

Justin Bieber was not yet married to his wife, Hailey Bieber, when the photos surfaced.

Sahara Ray built her own profile as a model and swimwear designer, establishing a career in fashion alongside the public interest in her personal life.

No additional information has been provided by her family regarding the situation that led to her passing.
