She was greeted by many officials and staffers to celebrate her birthday. In a video on X on September 29, 2024, he also explained how he got the bulldog and how they named her. Expressing his love for her, Jim Justice said:"I was sitting there on Christmas Eve, you know, I was watching our new born grandson or grandbaby. He would just turn two, and all of a sudden, my son and daughter, Jay and Jill, reached this little 10-week-old bulldog puppy over my shoulder, and I looked at her, and I thought, Oh, my goodness.""I put her down in the presents; she was running all over the place in the presents with our little two-year-old, you know, grandson, and all of a sudden, he said the words that I'll never, ever forget. Of course, she had no idea what the word puppy was. But he looked back, and he said, 'Where'd that baby dog go?' And so we named her Babydog," he added.Jim Justice said that she always brings a smile to people's faces and added that she "loves everybody".
