On October 21, Benny Johnson reacted to Ilhan Omar’s response to the accusation that she married her brother. In her latest MSNOW interview, the host Chris Hayes questioned the US Rep. about conspiracy theories around her first marriage, claiming that she married her brother. To this, the Minnesota Democrat replied that it all started with the Somali blog. Since then, right-wing theorists and others have raised questions about her first husband, named Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, who is also Ilhan’s rumored brother.Ilhan Omar said:“It started with the Somali blog that I don't know if it still exists, but somebody put in there that he had to have been my brother or something to that effect, and right-wing conspiracy theorists in Minneapolis got a hold of it, and they just kind of went and found random people who were like, she introduced us, she introduced him to us, and said he was her brother, which is insane.Further, Ilhan said that she doesn't know whom these right-wing conspiracy theorists are talking about. She said:“I mean, I don't know those people that they talk about. - You were not related to him at all. (Chris Hayes asked) - Not that I, not to my knowledge.”The American commentator, Benny Johnson, targeted Ilhan for her apparently hazy response to rumors about her marriage. He asked why the US Rep. can’t simply say ‘NO’ to make things clearer. In his tweet, Benny Johnson wrote:“YIKES: Ilhan Omar was just asked if she married her brother on Live TV. Her answer: “Not to my knowledge…” WHAT?! She can’t even say “NO”?! What other person would answer this question like that? Things are about to get bad for Ilhan.”Ilhan Omar gave her first interview since the raid at her residenceThe political figure appeared for her first interview with MSNOW since the Trump administration raided her house on October 12. Her residence was raided under a search warrant linked to her alleged involvement in immigration fraud. In response to the raid, Ilhan said that she can’t be silenced.For those unaware, the Minnesota Rep. has been repeatedly targeted by Trump over unverified claims about Omar marrying her brother to obtain US Immigration status. The US Rep. has denied these rumors as baseless lies in the past.Most recently, Trump even said that Ilhan may go to ‘jail’ when asked about the raid at her residence. He even dubbed her ‘sick’ and ‘dishonest’ while talking with reporters in the Oval Office on October 20.
