On October 13, President Trump doubled down on criticism of Congresswoman Ilhan Omar shortly after a raid on her residence. Earlier on October 12, Omar’s home was searched by the federal authorities over her involvement in alleged immigration fraud.

The POTUS once again called Ilhan a ‘terrible’ person when he was departing the White House South Lawn in DC. He spoke with the reporters, and when asked about the raid at Ilhan Omar’s house, he said:

"I think she's a terrible person. I think she's a terrible congresswoman. I don't think she loves our country at all, but I don't take a position."

The president criticized Omar but refused to take any position on the raid.

Before this, the POTUS slammed Ilhan Omar in another video, which was released on the White House’s YouTube account. He called Ilhan a ‘complainer’ for complaining about the country’s Constitution. During a press gaggle at the White House, when reporters asked Trump about the search conducted at the congresswoman’s home, he responded:

"Well, I understand they're looking at it very carefully. I've always found her to be totally crooked, personally, but that has nothing to do with me. I think she's a terrible person, just a complainer. She comes from a country that is a non-country, and then she comes over here, and she complains about our Constitution. I think she's a terrible person, but that's really up to the DOJ. I have nothing to do."

Ilhan Omar reacted after Trump’s administration raided her house

In her tweet, Ilhan Omar said the federal government is targeting political enemies. She wrote:

"I’m ok. Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement. For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns. This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation. I will not be silenced," she remarked.

Omar’s press office also released its statement after the incident. They called the raid the ‘weaponization of federal law enforcement.’ They also highlighted the president’s alleged repeated attacks on the congresswoman.

Several Democrats called out the federal government for the abuse of power. AOC and Zohran Mamdani voiced their support for Ilhan Omar.
