After a federal judge rejected most of Blake Lively's allegations against Justin Baldoni in their ongoing legal battle over the movie It Ends With Us, her legal team has responded. U.S. District Judge Lewis J. Liman recently limited the case before trial by dismissing ten of Lively's thirteen allegations. Her legal team responded:

"She stood up for safety on the set and that is the case that is going to trial."

Sigrid McCawley, Lively's lawyer, emphasized in a statement after the ruling that their major goal in the case is still the same. She said:

“This case has always been and will remain focused on the devasting [sic] retaliation and the extraordinary steps the defendants took to destroy Blake Lively’s reputation because she stood up for safety on the set and that is the case that is going to trial.”

She added:

“For Blake Lively, the greatest measure of justice is that the people and the playbook behind these coordinated digital attacks have been exposed and are already being held accountable by other women they’ve targeted.”

She concluded that Lively is ready to testify and plans to keep seeking justice in court:

“She looks forward to testifying at trial and continuing to shine a light on this vicious form of online retaliation so that it becomes easier to detect and fight.”

Judge Lewis J. Liman has dismissed several cases, which include charges relating to harassment, defamation and conspiracy. Three claims, however, will still proceed to trial: the Breach of contract, Retaliation, and Aiding and abetting retaliation.

Notably, Wayfarer Studios, Justin Baldoni's production firm, is still involved in several aspects of the case, although he is not a defendant in the remaining allegations.

What Justin Baldoni's side has said

Wayfarer Studios representatives lauded the decision, saying they were "very pleased" that the court rejected the allegations of sexual harassment and those against individual defendants. They stated that the remaining case was "significantly narrowed" and that they were prepared to fight the remaining accusations in court.

In a statement to CNN, they said:

“These were very serious allegations, and we are grateful to the Court for its careful review of the facts, law and voluminous evidence that was provided. What’s left is a significantly narrowed case, and we look forward to presenting our defense to the remaining claims in court.”

Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni had been at odds since December 2024, when Lively filed a complaint claiming misconduct when It Ends With Us was being filmed, then later a smear campaign was started in retaliation after she voiced concerns.

Justin Baldoni refuted the allegations, which his legal team had already labeled as “trivial and petty grievances.” Since then, the lawsuit has entailed numerous filings, countersuits, and public declarations, making it one of Hollywood's more well-known legal fights.

Following previous delays brought on by scheduling difficulties, the trial is now set to start on May 18, 2026. Despite the dismissal of the majority of claims, Lively's legal team claim that they will remain focused.
