Ariana Grande's exit from the London revival of Sunday in the Park with George has now cost the production another major name. Jonathan Bailey, thirty-eight, has stepped back from the show, where he was set to play George opposite Grande's Dot in the Marianne Elliott-directed project. The Wicked co-stars were attached together, and as per Bailey's statement on his Instagram story, that bond is exactly why he is walking away."Ari is one of my dearest friends, and my support for her is unwavering," he shared.Bailey, who called the musical a "real passion project," was candid about how much the production had meant to him before announcing his departure."This brilliant, introspective musical has been a real passion project for me, and I feel incredibly lucky to have shared in its journey with the team," he added.The Jurassic World Rebirth actor, however, made it clear that he holds nothing but warmth for the company. He also signaled out director Marianne Elliot as "one of my longest collaborators and friends." As per a report shared by BBC, the thirty-three-year-old singer was close to tears at points during her last show, particularly during One Last Time, a song that became an anthem for survivors of the 2017 Manchester terror attack.
