Sports equipment manufacturing giant Callaway Golf and sports digital media company Good Good Golf have recently drawn attention online after both companies collaborated on an ad video that gained significant criticism for depicting violence against women.

According to the Independent, the ad videos, which were posted on different social media platforms, were immediately removed by both Callaway and Good Good Golf. With the promotional video being taken down and removed from all official handles by both companies on August 21, 2026, a few clips of the ad video are still circulating on the internet.

As Callaway Golf is widely known for specifically being one of the largest golf ball and golf club manufacturers globally, following the ad video controversy, Callaway released a statement expressing its disappointment regarding the matter and noted:

"We are disappointed by the content that was posted, and are appreciative of Good Good for addressing this. We look forward to working together to ensure a more inclusive space in golf."

Besides expressing disappointment regarding the controversial ad video that drew immense criticism, Callaway Golf took to its official X (formerly Twitter) handle and shared a post in which Chip Brewer, the company's CEO, apologized for publishing the ad video, which was made in collaboration with Good Goof Golf. The apology statement addressed Callaway's customers, employees, stakeholders, and golfers across the globe and noted:

"Last week, Good Good and Callaway posted a video to promote a co-branded driver. While the video was produced by Good Good, it was approved by Callaway prior to posting. That approval should never have happened. Mistakes were made, and we are taking the matter very seriously."

The statement also mentioned the immediate removal of the ad video and noted:

"As soon as we recognized the seriousness of the issue, it was escalated approriately, and the video was immediately removed. Preliminary statements were issued by both Good Good and Callaway, and now this statement has followed."

Chip Brewer concluded the statement by noting:

"We believe we have been a positive force for diversity and inclusion in the game of golf. This video was completely inconsistent with that. I assure you that we will learn from this and do better."
