Jelly Roll is being honest about his struggle with food, admitting that his recent stress has caused him to relapse into bad eating habits.
The musician admitted on a YouTube video uploaded July 10 that he has been stress eating over the last few days while dealing with his divorce from his former wife, Bunnie Xo.
"I've been overeating the last three or four days, and I was feeling myself stress-eating. And then, what else happened was the addict in me came out."

The country music star equated his relationship with food to previous experience with drug and alcohol abuse, in that once he slips, he falls even harder.
Recalling a recent tour stop, Jelly Roll said he gave in to temptation after spotting one of his favorite desserts at the venue's catering.
"We had this show at this one spot that I love their catering. They have a dairy-free skillet cookie. I don't eat nothing like that. I'm like a drug addict. You can't eat that, because if I eat one, I eat two. I eat four."
He explained that the craving quickly escalated throughout the day.
"Later that night, I'm at the taco truck getting the peanut butter fluff. Next thing I know, we're at the rest stop, I'm looking for a chocolate bar. I'm like, 'D***, that fast, now I've consumed 2,000 extra calories today that I didn't even see coming.'
Jelly Roll's changing lifestyle reportedly caused his marriage to Bunnie Xo to fall apart
Jelly Roll has been open about his efforts to improve his health through weight loss and lifestyle changes in recent years. Throughout his efforts, his then-wife Bunnie Xo had been incredibly supportive of him.
In one of the episodes of her Dumb Blonde podcast, the internet personality expressed how proud she was of Jelly for "falling in love with himself again" as he had lost about 300 pounds at the time.

However, according to Page Six, due to the Son of a Sinner hitmaker's soaring career and continuously changing lifestyle, their marriage began to crumble, until they ultimately decided to call it quits in May 2026.
Nevertheless, the two remain friends, with Jelly Roll declaring Bunnie Xo as his best friend on one of his tours. The former couple also confirmed that they will still go through their plans to have a child through surrogacy and their already-started IVF journey.

Meanwhile, speaking of his reported relapse, Jelly Roll clarified that food addiction isn't always obvious, noting that binge-eating can occur when no one's looking.
"People don't get it. I tell people, 'You don't become the size you became without having a mental health issue.' It's something way deeper. It's a different thing. But once you get to that point of really realizing what you're hungry for, everything changes. And knowing what your triggers are."
