On September 30, Gavin Newsom seemingly aimed at Trump after the White House misspelled ‘United States’ in its latest AI agreement. Earlier on September 29, the POTUS held an AI meeting to officially rename Artificial Intelligence and to sign a Joint Commitment with other tech leaders to the safer development of the growing technology. The president announced that Artificial Intelligence will be called ‘Super Intelligence’ from now on.The Governor of California shared a post highlighting the spelling error in the AI agreement. He seemingly mocked Trump, saying:“The Golden Age of ‘Super Intelligence.’”In another tweet, Gavin Newsom slammed the president’s new AI agreement. He dubbed the president’s approach to AI as ‘reckless.’ He compared Trump’s alliance with other tech leaders to Big Pharma, saying:“What we saw from the White House yesterday was b*llsh*t. It’s like Big Pharma saying we don’t need the FDA. Donald Trump’s “let it rip” approach to AI is RECKLESS"Gavin Newsom signed another order countering Trump’s AI agreementFollowing the president’s agreement, Gavin Newsom also signed an executive order that permanently designates Artificial Intelligence as “Artificial Intelligence” in California. The POTUS changed the name and emphasized ‘self-regulation’ by tech companies under the new AI agreement. He signed a joint commitment with Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk, Jensen Huang, Greg Brockman, Sundar Pichai, and Dario Amodei.Initially, Trump announced the new name for AI at the UN Conference. During his speech, he revealed the new term ‘Super Intelligence’ as he believed the term ‘artificial’ made it sound ‘fake.’ At the conference, Trump said:“Super intelligence -- we've changed the name officially, by the way. I signed the document. We don't call it artificial intelligence. Because it's not artificial. It's real. It's a terrible world. It's amazing it's been around so long, actually.”The POTUS has constantly shown his support for the rapidly growing tech. He also said that the tech companies will ‘self-police’ and keep an eye on one another.
