“The guy who likes to hit women and assaulted Rihanna”: TikToker slams Jasmine Crockett over honouring Chris Brown 

Jasmine Crockett is being called out by a Threads pundit and TikToker after the Texas congresswoman walked onstage at American Telephone and Telegraph Company Stadium in Arlington on Saturday night to put both Chris Brown and Usher into the Congressional Record during their R&B Tour. Josh Schooley, who has built a following of more than forty thousand on the platform, was blunt about his reaction.

"The guy who likes to hit women and assaulted Rihanna? The guy who smashed windows with a chair at GMA because Robin Roberts triggered his anger issues? The guy who punched Frank Ocean over a parking spot? The guy who was kicked out of rehab for throwing a rock at his mom's car window? Do I need to go on? Is that enough? THAT Chris Brown?," shared Schooley.

Crockett had appeared alongside RoccStar, who has collaborated closely with Brown over the years. RoccStar celebrated the outcome, writing:

In the same Instagram post, RoccStar revealed he was the one who brokered the connection, noting that Texas State Representative Venton Jones and Jasmine Crockett carried the recognition out on the night.

"I had the pleasure of making a powerhouse play between Congress and my brother @chrisbrownofficial with such a rare honor!" he wrote.

He added that Brown will now carry a permanent place alongside Usher in congressional history.

"He will now forever be documented along with my big brother @usher as two of the most influential musicians," he wrote.

Chris Brown's history of controversies that sparked Josh Schooley's response to Jasmine Crockett's decision:

Jasmine Crockett appeared onstage to personally present Brown with the recognition. Here is a look at the incidents Schooley was referring to. As per a report shared by People, Brown and then-girlfriend Rihanna had an argument that escalated into physical violence on February 8, 2009. Rihanna was left with visible facial injuries and was hospitalized.

Brown was subsequently charged with felony assault and making criminal threats, pleading guilty on June 22 of that year and accepting a plea deal of community labor, five years of probation and domestic violence counseling.

After completing the yearlong domestic violence course in 2010, Brown wrote on X in a since-deleted post,

"I have enough self respect and decency to be proud of accomplishing this DV class. Boyz run from [their] mistakes. Men learn from them!!!"

In January 2013, Brown and his entourage clashed with singer-songwriter Frank Ocean and his group outside a West Hollywood recording studio, reportedly over a parking space. As per an incident report obtained by TMZ, Brown allegedly punched Ocean and threatened to shoot him, with one of Brown's entourage reportedly using derogatory language against Ocean. However, Ocean declined to press charges.

Brown voluntarily entered a rehab facility in October 2013, only to be kicked out for alleged violent behavior on November 14 of that year, as per the Los Angeles Times. As per his probation officer, Brown reportedly smashed his mother's car window with a rock during a family session, a situation which left him sentenced to three months at a live-in anger management rehab facility six days later.

By February 2014, doctors at the facility had diagnosed Brown with bipolar disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder, believing his past behavior stemmed from attempts to self-medicate. A judge ordered Brown to stay an additional two months at a Malibu, California rehab, though doctors noted he was making great progress and becoming less impulsive.

Jasmine Crockett declines to endorse James Talarico:

Crockett also made headlines this month after she repeatedly declined to endorse state Rep. James Talarico. As per a report shared by The Washington Post, while most Democratic candidates have come out in full force to support their party's nominees following the primaries, Jasmine Crockett has been a notable exception.

When asked by CNN's Laura Coates whether she would campaign with Talarico, Jasmine Crockett was straightforward.

"I will be campaigning downballot," she said.

Talarico has been surging in polls against Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, though some strategists note they have not seen similar enthusiasm among Black voters, many of whom supported Crockett in the primary.
