Oscar-winning director, Martin Scorsese best known for directing Wolf of Wall Street has decided to embrace generative AI.German AI startum behind the text-to-image model Flux, Black Forest Labs on Tuesday announced that Scorsese is joining the company as an advisor. The company shared a video on its website featuring Martin using Flux for curating storyboard, which also involves mock up shots before filming. Martin in the video can be heard saying,"This conveys a cinematic intelligence."In a statement, Scorsese explained how AI can transform the storyboarding process,"For 70 years, I've been creating my own storyboards. There's always been this problem of how do you communicate what you see in your head to your cast and crew. There are some things you have to see and feel. I'm interested in the intersection of technology and storytelling, and seeing how that can push the bounds of creativity to create deeper and richer experiences for audiences."Directors and storyboard artists collaborate to translate a film's screenplay into a sequence of illustrations of panels.
