Megyn Kelly has made headlines recently for her pointed remarks aimed at Olivia Rodrigo, twenty-three years old, over the Cornell 7 lawsuit. The conservative commentator addressed the matter on the October 5th episode of her YouTube show, reading Rodrigo’s public statement aloud before sharing her take on it.

Rodrigo, the deja vu singer and Grammy winner, had issued a public statement in support of Jane Doe. She wrote that she stands with the plaintiff, calling out institutions that protect “abusers over women,” and urging that those who could have intervened, but chose not to, be held responsible. Rodrigo also wrote that Jane Doe

“deserves answers, consequences, and lasting change.”

Megyn Kelly, for her part, was not moved. Once she finished reading the statement on air, the conservative commentator kept it brief.

“Shut up and stick to singing,” she said.

Joy Reid, who has amassed more than one million followers on Threads, did not stay quiet after TMZ posted its coverage of Kelly’s remarks towards Rodrigo. The host weighed in on the outlet’s post.

“The MAGA pick-me strikes again,” Reid shared.

Kelly, fifty-five years old, wasn’t done. She continued her remarks, directing them squarely at the singer’s career.

“I liked you better when you were in front of a microphone singing your weird little depressing songs,” she said.
“Shut up. You don’t know what you’re talking about. It’s better to keep your mouth shut and let people suspect you’re an idiot than to open it and prove them right. Ever hear that saying? It applies to you, sweetheart,” she added.

Kelly also widened her scope beyond Rodrigo specifically.

“We don’t need the participation of know-nothing morons who have been auto-tuned into fame and suddenly think they have something profound to say on the culture wars,” she said.

Megyn Kelly followed that up with a direct warning aimed at the drivers license singer.

“Sit down and be quiet,” Kelly said.
“Or I’m going to have to start pulling your music and your lyrics and take a deep dive into exactly the kind of messaging that you are pushing on young women. I guarantee it’s not going to end well for you, Olivia. Be quiet. The adults are talking,” she added.

As per a report shared by Billboard, Megyn Kelly's rant came as similar discourse has been spreading across the internet in response to Jane Doe’s recent lawsuit against Cornell and seven then-members of the Chi Phi fraternity. The plaintiff claims they gave her alcohol and drugs, including ketamine, before allegedly gang raping her for hours in October 2024 when she was in no condition to consent.

Toby Morton, a former South Park writer known for using satirical websites to target politicians and public figures, has now set his sights on Megyn Kelly. Morton, who had already been running a Cornell-focused site for a week, turned his attention to Kelly after she weighed in on the allegations. He wasted no time making his intentions clear on Instagram.

“Hello, Megyn Marie Kelly. I see you blocked me on social media. How adorable. I’ve been so busy doing things that matter, I completely forgot to give you the attention you so desperately need,” Morton wrote.

Morton also added that he had purchased the domain megynmariekelly.com as his

“little act of digital self-care.”

He closed the post with a simple

“see you soon.”

As of now, no content has been posted to the site. Morton did, however, open up to Newsweek about what he planned to include.

“The website will examine Kelly’s public statements, the contradictions I see in her commentary, and the companies that choose to advertise alongside it. I want the satire to be absurd, but the underlying questions to be serious,” he shared.

He added that the launch date would remain a surprise for now. Morton also told Newsweek that his focus extended well beyond Kelly herself.

“Accountability cannot begin and end with the people at the center of these stories. We also need to examine the institutions, administrators, advertisers, and powerful people who enable, excuse or protect them,” he said.
