Selma Blair is back in the headlines, though not for reasons tied to her acting career. The Cruel Intentions actress was involved an alleged altercation on her flight on Sunday, with two flight attendants reportedly injured during the incident. One of the two attendants was taken to the hospital.
The FBI launched an investigation after airport officials responded to reports of
“a physically abusive passenger.”
Her publicist later addressed the situation with the BBC, sharing that Blair had
“experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct.”
According to the Queens Criminal Court, Blair has pleaded not guilty. She was eventually released from custody on bail.
Selma Blair faces two counts of second-degree assault

Things got significantly worse once the plane landed. Blair was taken to hospital, where a police officer and a nurse both allegedly fell victim to separate attacks, landing her at Queens Central Booking shortly after her release. She pleaded not guilty to two counts of second-degree assault covering both incidents, with a judge later setting bail at twenty thousand dollars cash or sixty thousand dollars bond and scheduling her next appearance for January 19.
The federal case, which deals strictly with what allegedly happened aboard Delta Airlines Flight 938, has no court date confirmed yet. Audio obtained by CBS News from air traffic control captured the pilot requesting medical personnel on the ground, referencing bite marks and a bloody nose among the injuries sustained. Blair had reportedly already been restrained by the flight crew before the aircraft touched down at John F. Kennedy International Airport. Delta later confirmed law enforcement met the flight on arrival, noting the airline holds a zero tolerance position on disruptive behavior aboard its aircraft.
Blair has been living with multiple sclerosis since her diagnosis in 2018.
Selma Blair previously apologized after being removed from a flight on a stretcher in 2016

This isn’t the first time Selma Blair has found herself at the center of an in-flight controversy. Back in June 2016, the actress was reportedly removed from a plane on a stretcher and rushed to hospital after an incident on a flight back to Los Angeles from Cancun, where she had been vacationing with her son Arthur and his father, her ex-boyfriend Jason Bleick.
Stories about the incident quickly made the rounds, with TMZ obtaining more graphic details from witnesses on board. Blair had posted an Instagram photo of herself and Arthur on the plane before the return flight, with no indication of what was about to unfold.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, Selma Blair addressed the situation directly and issued an apology, sharing,
“I made a big mistake yesterday. After a lovely trip with my son and his Dad, I mixed alcohol with medication, and that caused me to black out and led me to say and do things that I deeply regret. My son was with his Dad asleep with his headphones on, so there is that saving grace."
"I take this very seriously, and I apologize to all of the passengers and crew that I disturbed and am thankful to all of the people who helped me in the aftermath. I am a flawed human being who makes mistakes and am filled with shame over this incident. I am truly very sorry,” she added.
