On September 21, Gavin Newsom reacted after the White House launched the new live network, named Trump TV, following the suspension of press pool boycott. Earlier in the day, ABC, Fox News, NBC, and CBS released their joint statement in solidarity with CNN, MS NOW, and Politico, who were recently banned from the White House by Trump.The Governor of California reacted to the president’s new channel. He criticized the President of the United States and referred to the launch of his new channel as an act of ‘autocratic behavior.’ In his X post, Gavin Newsom said:“First, Trump banned independent news from the White House. Now, he's launching what is quite literally state-run TV to try drowning out the fact that he and his corrupt administration are failing the American people. This is truly autocratic behavior from a failed President.”Trump accused CNN, Politico, and MS NOW of spreading ‘fake news’On September 18, the POTUS declared the White House ban on CNN, MS NOW, and Politico for allegedly spreading ‘fake news.’“I am proud to announce that, effective immediately, I am banning Fake News CNN, MSNOW (who recently changed their name from MSNBC due to lack of viewership and credibility!), and Politico (The recipients of an illegal and ridiculous $8 Million Dollar subscription, an all-time record, directly from the United States Government, under Crooked Joe Biden, in order to keep them "alive." Seems like corruption to me!), from the White House as a result of their constant "reporting" FAKE NEWS!”Even the reporters of these publications were barred from entering the White House soon after Trump’s announcement. After this, the three news outlets revealed that they are filing a lawsuit against the president’s order as it infringed their fundamental and constitutional rights.Other media outlets also suspended their White House coverage to support the three banned networks. They released a joint statement saying:“The public has a vital interest in receiving accurate, independent information about its government,” the networks said in a joint statement. “No administration should restrict a news organization because it objects to its reporting.”After all the media outlets pulled out, the audio-less video of Trump went viral on the internet, as there were no microphones to capture what the POTUS said in the White House. The president also faced criticism for banning media outlets.
