On October 11, Elon Musk denied the ex-wife’s claim that he cut their child Vivian off from health insurance after she came out as transgender. These allegations originated from unverified statements made by his ex-wife, Justine Wilson, in an upcoming ‘Musk’ documentary and have not been independently confirmed.

The Tesla mogul reacted to a news report by TMZ, calling it ‘utterly false.’ Elon Musk wrote:

“This is utterly false. At no point did I remove Xavier from health insurance.”

As reported by TMZ, Justine Wilson revealed details about Musk’s reaction to her trans daughter after her transition. She reacted to the billionaire's past statement when he said he lost his daughter Vivian Jenna to a 'woke mind virus.' She said:

“Elon was telling her, through telling the world, what that point of view actually was. And Elon never tried to repair things; that’s not in his nature.”

Justine further claimed that after Vivian came out as trans, Musk showed love for his daughter but then cancelled her health insurance the next day. Wilson shared more about Elon's mindset in Alex Gibney's documentary Musk, which was released in New York and LA on October 9. Following this, the nationwide release is slated for October 16.

Elon Musk’s daughter Vivian officially transitioned in 2022

The SpaceX founder’s daughter, initially Xavier Musk, kicked off her gender transition journey at the early age of 16 in 2020. She officially changed her name in June 2022 and legally dropped her last name Musk at the age of 22. Vivian Wilson made her runway debut on September 12 of last year during New York Fashion Week for designer Alexis Bittar.

This gender change reportedly severed ties between Elon and Vivian. Earlier, in a July 2024 interview with Jordan Peterson, Elon Musk said that he lost his son to the ‘woke mind virus.’

For those unaware, Elon tied the knot with his college sweetheart Justine in 2000. She was Musk’s first wife. They parted ways in 2008 after the Tesla mogul filed for divorce. The couple welcomed twins in 2004, Xavier (now Vivian) and Griffin, after losing their first child, Nevada Alexander, due to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).
