The Bruce Almighty star, Jim Carrey, who came to the public eye after quite some time, became the victim of a reported viral clone conspiracy theory.

According to People Magazine, the 63-year-old actor, Carrey, who attended the 51st César Awards on February 27, 2026, in Paris, became the target of a reported conspiracy theory that he was "replaced" or that someone impersonated him at the prestigious French award show.

Jim Carrey's former romantic partner, Jenny McCarthy, a Playboy model-turned-actress, with whom he was in a relationship for five years from 2005 to 2010, came forward and defended him by shutting down the viral conspiracy theory, as reported by People Magazine.

McCarthy, who is currently married to singer-turned-actor Donnie Wahlberg, during an interview with People Magazine at the recently held 2026 iHeartRadio Music Awards, shared her opinion on the matter by dismissing it, and said:

"It was definitely Jim Carrey."

The Dirty Love actress, Jenny McCarthy, shared that for her, what was more appealing and important was not her ex, Carrey's appearance, but how happy he seemed on stage. Jenny said:

"He looked very happy at that award show. And I was happy for him. That's the first thing I noticed. I said, 'Oh wow, Jim looks really happy."

The Santa Baby actress, Jenny's husband, Donnie Wahlberg, who was also present at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, said:

"You know, that's the part that, sadly, people miss. We're so obsessed with how he looks that we didn't consider how happy he looked."
