“Well, it’s been seven months”: Zack Peter reacts after Savannah Guthrie seemingly confirms her mother Nancy Guthrie has died

Savannah Guthrie recently mentioned her mother, Nancy Guthrie, in public after a long time. Zack Peter has reacted to the fact that the Today show host referenced Nancy in the past tense, seemingly accepting that she is dead.

Nancy Guthrie disappeared from her home in Tucson, Arizona, on February 1 this year. It has been over seven months, but her whereabouts are still unknown. The authorities have received multiple ransom letters as well, but they haven't been able to find her.

Amidst this, Nancy's daughter, Savannah Guthrie, resumed her work on NBC's Today show in April this year. During an appearance on the show earlier this week, she was live alongside Jenna Bush Hager, Sheinelle Jones, Al Roker, Craig Melvin, Carson Daly, and Dylan Dreyer. During the announcement, Savannah said:

“I love that we’re all going. I’ve never been to Ireland. My mother’s family… my mother was Irish, [as was] her grandmother. They were from Galway.”

Her use of the word "was" became a notable point on social media, with many claiming that she might have accepted that her mother is dead. Podcaster Zack Peter reacted to this in a video on X (formerly Twitter), saying:

"I'm sorry, but if it's news to you that Nancy is with Jesus, I feel like we're a little more detached than the jurors in the Lindsay Clancy case. Like, what are we talking about? I thought we were all pretty clear and on the same page that Nancy, Nancy has moved on. Nancy is no longer with us."

"Well, it's been seven months. You think Nancy's still alive out there? I mean, you and Sheriff Nanos, but everybody else is, in reality, that Nancy is likely passed on," he added.

Zack Peter said that while no one knows where she is, "we can all unanimously agree" that Nancy Guthrie has died.

Savannah Guthrie last appealed for information about Nancy Guthrie in August

Since her mother's disappearance, Savannah Guthrie has often shared her thoughts through social media videos. Soon after her disappearance, she appealed to the kidnappers to return her mother. In a previous video, she also said that they might have to accept that Nancy Guthrie might be dead.

Savannah also shared a post on Instagram on August 1, which marked six months since her mother's disappearance. She wrote:

"Six months ago, someone took her out of her bed in the dead of night. We have lived every moment, every breath, and every heartbeat in agony and despair ever since."

Appealing for help, she added:

"We are begging for help. We are desperate. We need someone to come forward. Someone knows something. Someone suspects something. Someone recognizes the writing in the ransom demand notes. Someone has noticed something different, strange, troubling or just unusual - perhaps with someone they deeply love."

Savannah Guthrie further wrote that people can help anonymously if they are worried about their families or are conflicted. She also reminded people about the $1 million reward she and her family have offered for any valid evidence about Nancy Guthrie's whereabouts.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department, meanwhile, has confirmed that the case is still open and they are assessing the tips and evidence.
