Alexa Demie addressed perceptions about her lower public profile compared with some of her Euphoria co-stars.

In her recent exclusive profile with The Hollywood Reporter, the 35-year-old revealed that many believe people working in a popular TV show have the same need for publicity when actually it is not true.

"It's like, did you ever think that I don't want it?"

Alexa Demie also said that she appreciates what she has in her life right now and there is no need for her to meet the same level of fame like other actors from the show.

"People really take the authority out of your hands. What happened to my ability to choose? I like my life like this, and I wouldn't change it."

In the same conversation, Alexa Demie admitted that she struggled during the first and sophomore seasons of Euphoria, while also offering insights into what really goes on behind the scenes of the HBO series.

"I didn't realize how method I was, and how seriously I was taking everything."

The Waves star continued:

"I thought I had to do them [sex scenes], and that if I said no to doing them, then I wouldn't have the part. Not because anyone ever said that to me, but because I was so young and I didn't know."

In the series, Maddy, Alexa Demie's character, cheated on Nate, played by Jacob Elordi. She revealed to THR that she made a montage of the deed but realized that it made her feel uncomfortable.

"I'm not saying I don't love sex, and I think it can be portrayed beautifully and I know the show is portraying the life of teenage girls. But once I did it, I realized, okay I don't love how this feels. So I said something, and everyone was empathetic, and I never did that again."

Alexa Demie addresses retirement rumors

Meanwhile, in her conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, where she featured on its digital cover, the actress also addressed the speculations of her supposed retirement once Euphoria wraps up on May 31.

"There are goals, and things that I want, but I’m choosing to keep that private."

The rumors reportedly swirled due to her lack of acting credits, compared to her co-stars Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, and Sydney Sweeney. Her little to no presence led to theories that she intended to quit after the HBO series's Season 3 finale.

"If I didn't have that experience, I'd be hiding up there like Enya. But that life is always there for me, and what I'm learning is that I can have both."
