Alexandra Artrip has spoken out about her character being recast in Practical Magic 2. The thirty-six-year-old, who played Antonia, Sally's younger daughter, in the original 1998 film, addressed the recasting in an Instagram video on Thursday, September 3. As per a report shared by People, Alexandra Artrip now goes by Lexi and stepped away from Hollywood and acting at 8 years old. Her former co-star Evan Rachel Wood had publicly stated that no one from the original cast was contacted about the recasting, a situation which prompted Artrip to respond."I love hearing your stories and connections to the film, but I see them going on a lot of content around the sequel. I think the sentiment is right. People are trying to show support for Evan and myself and the original film and everything that it's meant to so many people, but I just don't want my stuff to be a space for negativity," she shared.That being said, Alexandra Artrip had nothing but kind words for Maisie Williams and Joey King, who are set to replace her and Evan Rachel Wood in Practical Magic 2."Maisie and Joey are lovely actresses, and I'm sure the production team did what they thought was best for the film to be successful," she added.As per her LinkedIn profile, where she goes by Lexi Fiegener, Alexandra Artrip earned her master's degree in advertising and public relations from The University of Alabama.
