Yung Filly was found not guilty of three counts of s*xual penetration without consent, a choking charge, and one assault charge on Friday, July 31, after an eight-day trial in Perth, Australia, over an alleged encounter with a woman in 2024. He was convicted of two charges of assault resulting in bodily damage for biting the woman, but jurors were unable to reach a judgment on three further counts of s*xual penetration without consent.British rapper and YouTuber, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, pleaded not guilty to all ten charges. The 30-year-old reportedly sobbed when the judgments were delivered before the District Court of Western Australia.What are the allegations against Yung Filly?The case originated from an encounter between the YouTuber and a woman, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, during one of his shows on his first Australian tour in September 2024.The two met in the VIP section of a nightclub in Perth's northern suburbs before proceeding to Filly's hotel. During the trial, the woman portrayed herself as a fan of the entertainer, claiming she had previously considered him her "idol."Filly stated in court that when they arrived at his hotel, the "vibes were good." His security guard seized the woman's phone, which he claimed was usual procedure for protecting his privacy.Both parties agreed that Yung Filly and the woman initially had consensual s*x. However, prosecutors said that the encounter turned aggressive and that the woman withdrew her consent.According to prosecutors, Filly became confrontational when the woman observed him pointing his phone at her and asked if he was recording her. The woman said that Yung Filly repeatedly bit her face, neck, and breasts, smacked her, and put pressure on her neck.Prosecutors claimed she told him to stop and that the continuing s*xual conduct transpired without her consent. Prosecutor Danielle Clarke referred to the rapper as an “entitled man” who had s*xually assaulted an “impressionable" young woman. She told the court:“She meant nothing to him.”She added:“What could have been and should have been consensual sex quickly escalated into sexual violence and a non-consensual nightmare.”Jurors were shown photos of the woman's face and neck with bruises and bite marks, as well as a breast injury.Yung Filly denied that the woman continually urged him to stop or warned him that he was injuring her. However, he admitted biting her throughout their meeting. Providing proof, the rapper described the bites as "love bites" that involved kissing, sucking, and his teeth coming into contact with her skin. Additionally, he was acquitted of both the assault allegation related to an alleged slap and the choking charge.But because Yung Filly bit the victim, the jury found him guilty on two counts of assault causing bodily harm. According to reports, the convictions involved bites to her breast and neck, among other places.On the final three counts of s*xual penetration without consent, the jury was unable to reach a unanimous decision. Consequently, rather than leading to dismissals, those charges remain unresolved. In the event of a retrial, prosecutors will now decide whether to pursue the three charges again.Yung Filly made his name through YouTube and collaborations with artists like the Beta Squad.
