As per news reports, Anna Faris is all set to make a return to the big screen with the Scary Movie. This will be the sixth movie of the Scary Movie franchise.

Since the star-studded dramedy The Estate in 2022, Faris has not starred in a significant motion picture. The critically acclaimed 2018 adaptation of Overboard was her final significant theatrical appearance. The majority of Faris's work during the past ten years has been in television, such as voice acting on The Simpsons and her co-leading role on the CBS comedy Mom, which she left in 2020.

Anna Faris has a net worth of $30 million according to Celebrity Net Worth. She originally became well-known for her role as Cindy Campbell in the Scary Movie franchise (2000–2006), which flawlessly captured the humorous tone of the show.

Her breakthrough led to noteworthy appearances in comedies such as What's Your Number? (2011) and The House Bunny (2008), in which she portrayed a former Playboy bunny who became a sorority house mother.

On November 29, 1976, Anna Kay Faris was born in Baltimore, Maryland. Her mother, Karen, taught special education, and her father, Jack, was a professor of sociology. Although both of her parents were from Seattle, Washington, they were residing in Baltimore due to her father's employment as a professor at Towson University.

In 2013, Faris started playing a major part in the CBS sitcom Mom. The program had shot 122 episodes by January 2019, which is sufficient to be eligible for syndication. Her pay was $125,000 each episode during the early seasons. Her pay per episode was increased to $200,000 sometime during the third or fourth season.

Anna Faris believes Hollywood putting her 'out of posture'

Anna Faris told Entertainment Weekly during an interview on Tuesday that she had the idea that Hollywood was putting her 'out of posture' and she was perfectly alright with it.

"I had been coming around to the idea of Hollywood sort of putting me out to pasture." Faris told Entertainment Weekly "And that was alright."

In the last ten years, the majority of Anna Faris's work has been in television, such as voice acting on The Simpsons and her co-leading role on the CBS comedy Mom, which she left in 2020. However, that all changed in early 2025 when the Wayans brothers, Shawn and Marlon Wayans, called her to rejoin the Scary Movie franchise.

Up to her final Scary Movie performance in the fourth film in 2006, Faris was well-known for her portrayal of Cindy Campbell. When Scary Movie 5 debuted in 2013, thirteen years ago, she was conspicuously absent.

In addition to working fewer hours, Faris had recently lost her house to the Palisades Fire in January 2025 when she was requested to return to Scary Movie.

"There was a lot of taking stock with the house burning down," she said of her life following the catastrophic fire that destroyed over 5,000 homes and killed nine people.

The movie is a "celebration for the Wayan brothers," Faris told People, calling both their comeback and her being asked back a "victory" and a "healing" experience.
