Besides Brandy Norwood, Pharrell Williams, and Kirk Franklin will also be honored by the Recording Academy

R&B singer Brandy, the gospel legend Kirk Franklin, and singer and record producer Pharrell Williams will be receiving the honors by the Recording Academy's Black Music Collective on January 29, 2026, just before the 2026 Grammy Awards.
The ceremony will take place in Los Angeles, at the Fairmont Century Plaza. Along with Brandy, Kirk Franklin is also set to receive a Black Music Icon Award, whereas Pharrell will be receiving the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award. Recording Academy's CEO Harvey Mason Jr, in a statement, said:
"Pharrell, Brandy and Kirk are true visionaries and masters of their craft. Each has built a legacy that transcends genre, defies convention, and shapes culture. Their artistry continues to inspire generations of artists around the world."
Mason further added:
"I’m thrilled to join the Black Music Collective in honoring three of music’s brightest stars in January and celebrating their immeasurable contributions to the industry."
