Brett Ratner, who is widely known for his blockbuster hits, including the action comedy Rush Hour film franchise starring Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker, has returned to directing films after over ten years with his latest documentary, Melania, which is scheduled to be released on January 30, 2026, as per Forbes.
Distributed by Amazon, MGM Studios, and directed by Brett Ratner, the documentary film Melania follows President Donald Trump's wife and the first lady, Melania Trump, and how she deals with the transition to return to the White House yet again. The docu-film also captures the weeks leading upto Donald Trump's 2025 presidential inauguration.
Brett Ratner, who has collaborated with some of Hollywood's A-listers, including Anthony Hopkins, Nicolas Cage, Edward Norton, Ralph Fiennes, Harvey Keitel, and more, has a successful career as a well-established filmmaker with a total net worth of $85 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
Ratner's last directed film was Hercules, released in 2014, starring Dwayne Johnson, Irina Shayk, Ian McShane, and Rebecca Ferguson. He had to step back from making films after he was reportedly accused by several women, including the Your Friends & Neighbors actress Olivia Munn, of s*xual assault and harassment in 2017.
Following the reported allegations, Ratner faced consequences as Warner Bros. cancelled a significant partnership with his production company and also ended all professional relationships with him. While Ratner was not found guilty or charged with any kind of crime, he kept denying the accusations made against him, Forbes reported. His lawyer, Martin Singer, supported and stood by him during that time, denying all allegations.
Brett Ratner was the "first and only choice" to direct Melania

Despite his problematic past, with him reportedly accused of s*xual harassment and assault by multiple women, including renowned actress Olivia Munn, film producer and director Brett Ratner was the "first and only choice" for directing the documentary Melania, as per Puck News.
Interestingly, after directing the docu feature, which is set to be released on January 30, Ratner got hold of his next job, as President Donald Trump asked Paramount's CEO David Ellison to reboot the Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker-starrer Rush Hour film franchise, with him as the director of the fourth installment.
As per reports, before Melania's theatrical release, the docu-film was screened at the White House for select guests, including Tim Cook, Mike Tyson, Tony Robbins, and several other high-profile guests.
