Actor Joe Keery, known for his role in Stranger Things, called out President Donald Trump for the latter’s comment about the woman who was shot by ICE. On January 7, Renee Nicole Good was shot in Minneapolis. On January 8, Trump shared a post on his Truth Social account about the incident. He wrote:
“I have just viewed the clip of the event which took place in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is a horrible thing to watch. The woman screaming was, obviously, a professional agitator, and the woman driving the car was very disorderly, obstructing and resisting, who then violently, willfully, and viciously ran over the ICE Officer, who seems to have shot her in self defense.”
He went on to write:
“Based on the attached clip, it is hard to believe he is alive, but is now recovering in the hospital. The situation is being studied, in its entirety, but the reason these incidents are happening is because the Radical Left is threatening, assaulting, and targeting our Law Enforcement Officers and ICE Agents on a daily basis. They are just trying to do the job of MAKING AMERICA SAFE. We need to stand by and protect our Law Enforcement Officers from this Radical Left Movement of Violence and Hate!”
Sharing a screengrab of Trump’s post on his Instagram story, Joe Keery wrote:
“Zero human decency stop this man.”

In the subsequent story, Keery shared a video in which it was mentioned that a doctor was stopped from going near the woman shot by ICE.
Joe Keery talks about his experience with Stranger Things
In December 2025, Joe Keery appeared on the Office Hours Live with Tim Heidecker show, where he was asked how he found out that he would be on Stranger Things. He said he got a call from his agent in Chicago, who said that he got the job. When asked how difficult it was for him to get the job, Keery said:
“It was kind of hard. It was, you know, you have to audition to a lot of stuff and then eventually if they like you, they'll say yeah but yeah, it was hard.”
Since he joined the series when he was young, he joked that it was “super hard” to remember his lines. When asked about his upcoming plans, Joe Keery said he had no plans in place. He commented:
“You know how it works. It's always like you're sort of you never Yeah. I don't know. Always looking for something that's cool.”
Earlier this month, while speaking with Josh Horowitz, Joe Keery reflected on the bond he shares with his Stranger Things co-stars. Horowitz asked what he was most proud of, and the actor replied:
“It's a great question maybe I'm probably most proud of the fact that the, you know, the cast is actually still as close as we all are, almost closer, I think, now than maybe we were halfway through.”
Joe Keery said that the bond with everyone has fused beautifully. He also mentioned that he got watch most of his co-stars grow up, and he felt it had been super special and important.
