Kathleen Turner has opened up about Michael Douglas' revelations about their past affair. She dismissed the conversation around it as a "fuss" and expressed her support for Douglas' new book.

Michael Douglas is set to release his new memoir titled One Helluva Ride on Tuesday, October 6. It features stories from his professional and personal life over the years. PEOPLE Magazine shared one excerpt from the upcoming memoir, where the actor wrote about his secret affair with Kathleen Turner 40 years ago.

Douglas was married to Diandra Luker at the time, but claimed that he had an affair with Turner during the making of Romancing the Stone. Turner has now responded to the excerpt, telling PEOPLE:

“Good heavens what a fuss about something 40 years ago! I love Michael and I look forward to enjoying the book.”

In his memoir, One Helluva Ride, Michael Douglas opened up about his secret affair with Turner. He wrote:

"Kathleen was smart, funny, and sexy with a deep, sultry voice that became her signature. I instantly liked her, and we were immediately attracted to each other."

He further wrote that he was having trouble in his marriage with Diandra Luker. They also had a son together, Cameron Douglas. He said that he had separated from Luker during Romancing the Stone's filming in Mexico. He wrote:

"The chemistry I had with Kathleen Turner was so strong, audiences have been certain for years that we were in a relationship together while making the film."

Douglas further stated that he and Kathleen Turner have always publicly denied it, but that it was a lie. He also explained that he had taken the actress' permission before sharing it in his memoir.

In his memoir, Michael Douglas further wrote about his secret affair with Kathleen Turner. He said that even the Romancing the Stone director Bob Zemeckis and co-star Danny DeVito were unaware of it. He stated that they would often sneak into each other's hotel rooms and added:

"The truth is that during the production of Romancing the Stone, Kathleen and I fell hard for each other and began a relationship. It wasn’t a fly-by-night affair; it grew naturally from how closely we were working together, how much pressure we were under, how much we respected and cared for one another, and how attracted we were to each other. Like every other guy in the world at the time, I was knocked sideways by Kathleen...."

However, the affair halted after Diandra Luker arrived at the shoot with their son, Cameron. She grew suspicious and told Kathleen Turner that she and Douglas were still technically married.

The actor revealed that Turner then took a step back. She also married Jay Weiss in 1984, and they had one daughter together, Rachel Ann Weiss, three years later. They got divorced in 2007.

Meanwhile, Douglas and Luker got divorced in 2000. He married Catherine Zeta-Jones that year, and they have two kids together: Dylan Michael Douglas and Carys Zeta Douglas.
