The legendary Bandstand Boogie singer Barry Manilow has left his fans a bit worried after announcing a short hiatus from performing at live shows.

According to People, the celebrated pop artist, Manilow, 83, who was on his music tour across the United States and the United Kingdom for 68 days, has finally decided to pause for a while and take a break from touring and performing on stage.

With a long and glorious music career, Barry Manilow, who has sold more than seventy-five million records over six decades as a successful musician, after performing at 29 shows during his 2026 music tour, which began in February, took to Instagram and shared a statement regarding his brief hiatus from touring. Manilow's statement, which he shared on his official Instagram handle on August 25, 2026, read:

"Hi everybody — Barry here. And I want you to be the first to know that we’re going to take a quick break.”

Barry's statement continued:

"We just finished a fantastic summer tour. 29 shows in 68 days. The shows were fantastic. The audiences were fantastic. And I sounded fantastic. But it seems that we were pushing a little too hard."

While his fans were worried and curious about what must have happened to the Daybreak singer, Barry Manilow's decision to take a short break from touring is primarily related to his health struggles.

As Barry mentioned in his statement, he took the break because of vocal problems and other technical issues; one has to keep in mind that Manilow has previously dealt with serious health issues, including lung cancer and pneumonia.

Barry, in his statement, made it clear that even though he is currently taking a break from his tour, he will be back on stage again in October 2026. The statement further noted:

"Now we all need to sit down and shut up. So, we’re going to take a break until we return to the Westgate Las Vegas on October 8th. When I’ll be singing like a bird. I hope to see you then."
