Musicians Alex Pall and Drew Taggart of The Chainsmokers drew online attention after 14 people fell ill and needed medical assistance at the electronic music duo's concert at San Jose's Discovery Meadow, an open-air outdoor space, on September 4, 2026.

According to People, the police have mentioned that some of the concertgoers who needed medical attention during The Chainsmokers' live show were reportedly due to alcohol intoxication and issues related to drug consumption. After the paramedics and the San Jose Fire Department reached Discovery Meadow to take control of the situation, people who fell ill were taken to nearby hospitals.

A multi-ambulance task force was also requested to provide medical assistance. According to People, fourteen ambulances responded to The Chainsmokers concert venue. Following the incident, the San Jose Fire Department shared a statement on its X (formerly Twitter) handle and wrote:

The department "immediately requested an Ambulance Task Force, two additional advanced life support fire units, and a Battalion Chief to manage the incident and provide additional medical resources."

According to The Mirror, there were no fatalities linked to the incident, and no one was taken into custody by the San Jose Police Department. While The Chainsmokers haven't commented on the matter yet, the concert, which was overshadowed by multiple serious medical emergencies, went on in spite of the incident. Emergency units remained at Discovery Meadow until the concert was over.
