Actress and internet personality Jenny McCarthy has revealed details about a medical illness that left her dealing with what she described as "six months of living hell." Speaking on Maria Menounos' podcast Heal Squad, McCarthy opened up about the symptoms, diagnosis, and ongoing recovery process. She opened up with how her living hell started:“The last time I was here I was literally on my way to the biological dentist because I had gone through six months of living hell.”Jenny McCarthy claims that an infected root canal that had not been thoroughly cleansed was the initial cause of the health issues. As a result, she developed what she called "toxic pools" under her wisdom teeth, which caused a jawbone infection.Despite undergoing numerous operations, the condition deteriorated over time, leading to recurrent infections. She disclosed that she has had multiple surgeries, recalling that she had already endured multiple procedures while yet having difficulty comprehending what was happening to her body.McCarthy started having symptoms other than dental problems as her health worsened. Her eyes began to get unusual growths that she described as recurrent and infected. She went on to describe it as the “nastiest whitehead, puss-filled eraser top.” Recalling the moment, Jenny McCarthy said:“I’m like, ‘What the heck is this?’ They’re like you’re not washing your eyes enough. I’m like bulls***.”The growths reappeared weeks after surgical removal, resulting in a never-ending cycle of agony. Her dental health also continued to decline, with implants being rejected and infections continuing. She also discussed various physical side effects that contributed to her general health, such as severe leg cramps and insomnia.Jenny McCarthy's diagnosisAfter months of uncertainty and treatment, Jenny McCarthy said her doctor decided to look into it. McCarthy explained the diagnosis, saying she was informed that mold releases toxins into dust particles, which can seriously harm people with underlying diseases like candida, poor immune systems, or leaky guts, problems she mentioned that she was already struggling with. According to McCarthy, her doctor said:“The reason why you’re having constant infections, your body won’t heal, you’re oozing things is because you have mold. You have mycotoxin poisoning.”She said:“Mold releases this toxin in the dust particles and what happens is most people … with good immune systems can handle it. People with weaker immune systems, people with leaky gut, candida, things I am already fighting [can’t].”Jenny McCarthy went on to reveal on the show:“I have a certain mold that causes seizures. [My doctor] goes, ‘If this thing that you’ve got crosses the blood brain barrier you’re going to be in the hospital having seizures. I’m like, ‘Oh, my God.’”The severity of her situation was further increased when she disclosed that a particular form of mold she had had the potential to cause seizures if it penetrated the blood-brain barrier.Jenny McCarthy also discussed her body's antibiotic resistance. McCarthy clarified that even though she had taken several medicines over time, her body was no longer reacting to them effectively:“I became antibiotic resistant last year. The mycotoxins made me antibiotic resistant, so no wonder why infection, infection, infection. I was taking all these antibiotics that weren’t working for me anymore.”Her body struggled to heal as a result of the infections' persistence due to this resistance. So the traditional methods of treatment did not work for the actress.McCarthy is now undergoing "heavy-duty mold protocol" to combat the toxicity and is rebuilding her health through her workout routine and diet. The former Playboy model is set to celebrate her eleventh wedding anniversary with Donnie Wahlberg, elder brother of Mark Wahlberg and one of the founding members of the boy band New Kids on the Block.Stay tuned to Soap Central for more information.
