The Happier Than Ever singer, Billie Eilish, once filed for a restraining order against her alleged stalker, Prenell Rousseau, who is now dead, as per Entertainment Weekly.

The 24-year-old Eilish, who won a Grammy for Song of the Year on February 1, 2026, filed a temporary restraining order against Rousseau in 2020, after he reportedly visited his Los Angeles family residence seven times between May 4 and May 7, 2020. The Chihiro hitmaker was 18 at the time.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the MTA Police confirmed on March 30, 2026, that Prenell Rousseau, who was 30, passed away on March 25 after he was hit by a westbound MTA train, which was on its way to Atlantic Terminal, Long Island, from the Huntington LIRR station.

As cited by the New York Post, a source from law enforcement stated that the Farmingville, New York-based Prenell was out for a jog near the tracks when the accident took place around 5:38 a.m. An initial investigation by the MTA Police regarding the incident stated that "no criminality is suspected."

According to Entertainment Weekly, while Prenell Rousseau allegedly stalked Billie Eilish in 2020, there was another individual, whose identity is unknown, who also stalked the Birds of a Feather singer in 2023. This person, against whom Eilish filed a restraining order, too, not only stalked her but also threatened her friends and family.

While Billie was just 18 at the time, she did not speak at that hearing in 2020. Billie wrote in the court document:

"While we waited for security, Mr Rousseau remained on our porch, sat down and began to read a book, while also continuing to engage in a periodic monologue. My father repeatedly asked him to leave, but he refused."

Following the 2020 incident, Prenell Rousseau was taken into custody by the police on charges of trespassing and was eventually repatriated to New York.
