What happened to Prince Harry during goat yoga? Duke of Sussex laughs off awkward moment at children's charity event

Prince Harry added humor to the occasion at a charity function in the United Kingdom, where an energetic goat caused a disturbance during a yoga exercise.

The Duke of Sussex visited Scotty's Summer Festival on July 11 in Warwickshire, England. The yearly event is held by a charity organization that helps children who have become orphans from losing their parent in military service.

As part of the day's activities, Prince Harry joined children for a goat yoga session, where several goats wandered among participants as they practiced different poses.

During one exercise, a video filmed by Associated Press showed how a goat jumped on Prince Harry when he was lying down. The goat climbed on top of him and caused the prince to hastily cover himself and then break into laughter. As the Duke gazed at the goat, he quipped:

"Ow! What are you doing?"

This sudden occurrence elicited laughter among those around. Another person in attendance made a joke that Harry's security detail had let the "Crown Jewels" down.

Images taken during the function showed Prince Harry laughing all through the meeting as he engaged the children and the animals.

A visit by the prince to Scotty's Summer Festival was in connection with the continuous efforts he has been making in support of military families and grieving children.

Prince Harry on being able to laugh after a difficult day: "Best medicine served"

Meanwhile, at one point during the festival, Prince Harry was asked by a 9-year-old named Poppy, whose father died of leukemia in 2020.

"What makes you laugh when you've had a difficult day?"

The Duke of Sussex looked visibly moved as he patted his heart after receiving the question.

"That got me right there. You know what, sometimes it's just a difficult day. It's not always possible to laugh. But my dog makes me laugh, my children make me laugh. And if I need to laugh, I'll probably put something really funny on the television."

He went on:

"And this goes for all of you, there are some days when you'd like to laugh, but it might not always be possible to laugh. But you've got brothers and sisters, friends, this community… but yes, I think the point is that a laugh at the end of a hard day is the best medicine served."

Prince Harry's visit to the UK

The festival comes amid Prince Harry's visit to the UK to mark the official "One Year to Go" countdown for the Birmingham 2027 Invictus Games.

In his visit, the Duke engaged in some adaptive sports activities like wheelchair rugby and pickleball at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham.

The next Invictus Games will take place between July 12 and July 17, 2027, in Birmingham, England. This will be the first occasion that the multi-sport tournament returns to the United Kingdom since the first ever Invictus Games took place in London back in 2014.

However, it was noticeable that Harry participated solo in these activities, while his wife Meghan Markle and their two children, Lilibet and Archie, met with King Charles III and Queen Camilla for the first time in four years.
