Gigi Hadid made headlines recently after she spoke out about appearing in the Epstein files.
The thirty-year-old supermodel and her younger sister Bella Hadid were referenced in an email from December 2015. As per a report shared by the Daily Mail, the Department of Justice released files that showed Jeffrey Epstein wrote about them in an exchange with someone whose name was hidden.
Hadid, who shares her daughter with Zayn Malik, responded to a fan comment on an Instagram post from March 29 and described Epstein as a "disgusting human being".
"I had to unfollow u bc u ain't talk bout those files Gigi," the fan had shared.
Gigi Hadid replied in a message that has since been removed.
"Horrible to read someone you've never met speak about you that way. Especially in this context," the star wrote.
Hadid further explained why she stayed quiet initially.
"I don't want to take away from the stories of real victims of his; but your comment made me realize maybe its not clear - and it's important to let you know. To be named in those files, I think I was 20-21 at the time he would have written that email - is disturbing, and I want to state unequivocally that I have never had any affiliation with that disgusting human being," she shared.
Jeffrey Epstein's opinions about Gigi Hadid and Bella Hadid were made public after the email release:

Someone wrote to Jeffrey Epstein in December 2015 and asked about the Hadid sisters. The person's name was redacted in the files that authorities released.
"How did the Hadid sisters became [sic] models and make so much money?! I don't understand," the email read.
The person guessed that their father paid an agency to help them get started. However, Epstein disagreed in his response.
"No. Because they follow directions, its [sic] that simple," Epstein explained.
Gigi Hadid told a fan her mom, Yolanda, brought her to modeling agency meetings before she turned 18:

Gigi Hadid addressed the fan's comment on Instagram and shared the real story of how she became a model. Gigi is the daughter of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Yolanda Hadid and real estate developer Mohamed Hadid. As per a report shared by the Daily Mail, she told the fan she had a privileged upbringing, but her parents taught her about hard work.
"The same hard work that got them to this country and gave them careers," she continued.
Gigi Hadid shared details about how she and her sister Bella entered the modeling world.
"We applied for and my mom brought me herself to meetings with agencies in NYC just before I turned 18, two of which she was signed to in her career - Marylins and Ford…" Gigi said.
Gigi Hadid shared that she went to 10 agencies total. A few of them offered her contracts, and IMG Models was one of them.
"I signed to IMG in 2012. And I've worked hard every moment since," the supermodel shared.
Over 3 million pages of Jeffrey Epstein documents have been released:

The Department of Justice put out new files about Jeffrey Epstein more than two months ago. As per a report shared by NPR, no new charges have been brought even though lawmakers from both parties keep pushing for accountability.
The documents total more than 3 million pages. They have claims from people who say Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell abused them. The files also show thousands of emails and photos of Epstein with well-known people.
Many of them stayed in touch with Epstein even after he pleaded guilty in 2008 to sex crimes involving minors. Congress passed the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which made the Justice Department release all its Epstein documents to the public.
Epstein died in prison about a month after he was arrested on sex-trafficking charges in 2019. Maxwell was convicted on sex-trafficking charges in 2021 and got a 20-year sentence. No arrests related to the files have been made in the U.S. since they came out in 2025 and 2026.
As per the NPR report, some high-ranking Americans have resigned or faced damage to their reputations because of what's in the documents. Top Justice Department officials in the U.S. said they didn't find strong enough evidence to file more charges related to Epstein.
The Justice Department told NPR why no one else besides Epstein and Maxwell has been prosecuted.
"There have not been additional prosecutions beyond Epstein and Maxwell because there has not been credible evidence that their activities extended to Epstein's network. However, if prosecutable evidence comes forward, the Department of Justice will of course act on it as we do every day in sexual trafficking and assault cases across the count[r]y," the statement read.
Top Justice Department officials added that people can look at the documents and decide for themselves.
