Renowned sportscaster and the face of SportsCenter, Linda Cohn, will be bidding farewell to her job at ESPN after 34 long years.
According to People, the 66-year-old veteran sports news anchor, Linda Cohn, broke the news of her retirement in a press release, stating that June 30, 2026, will be her last official working day at ESPN. After announcing her retirement, Cohn shared an emotional video on IG Stories, thanking her fans, viewers, and well-wishers. In the video, she said:
"The main thing I want to say is thank you. Thank you for your support. Thank you for all of the messages. Thank you for all the kind words."
Linda Cohn, while sharing how she enjoyed her job at ESPN and the type of impact she left on her viewers, noted:
"I’ve had happy tears all day, every minute of this day. It just means so much that I’ve made this kind of impact when I was just doing something that I enjoyed and loved, just being a sports fan, like you."
Cohn concluded her video by adding:
"But there’s so much more I’m going to say, but right now I wanted to make sure that I connected with you all."
Widely known for covering hockey at ESPN, Linda Cohn, whose net worth, as per Celebrity Networth, is $12 million, attended SUNY Oswego in New York, from where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree.
Cohn, besides hosting SportsCenter, has also been a writer, commentator, and sports reporter. Not to mention, before she became a part of ESPN, Cohn worked as a radio news host. However, ESPN shared a statement in which Cohn recalled the time she spent at the network and said:
"When I look back, I have amazing memories of the shows I hosted, the games I reported on, the athletes I met and the outstanding colleagues I got to work with."
She went ahead and said:
"I’ve always said I was a fan first and I’ve always tried to keep that top of mind when I was doing SportsCenter or anything else."
While talking about how proud she is of her career, Cohn further added:
"But what I’m most proud of is that my career lasted long enough for me to see little girls grow up watching SportsCenter, enter this business, and succeed in it,” Cohn said. “If my journey helped make that path a little easier for them, then that’s the achievement I’ll cherish most."
