Political commentator Laura Loomer has slammed China Daily's post about World Animal Day. She alleged that animals aren't safe in China and slammed their alleged actions against animals.
World Animal Day is celebrated on October 4 every year, and it was this year as well. A China news outlet named China Daily shared a post on X (formerly Twitter) celebrating the day. They also shared reports of animal conservation and protection steps and their reported results in recent years.
The post explained that this year's theme was "See the World Through Their Eyes". Laura Loomer quoted this post and slammed the outlet and animal treatment in China, writing:
"What a sick joke. China Daily, an arm of the Chinese Communist Party’s Propaganda Department, says China has “empathy” for animals. China is a nightmare for animals. China has no federal animal welfare laws."
"Millions of dogs and cats in China are slowly boiled alive, blow torched alive, and steamed alive for hours at a time because the Chinese people believe the more pain these animals suffer, the better their meat will taste," she added.
Laura Loomer further mentioned alleged animal testing and cruelty on animals, writing:
"One of my dogs was rescued from a Chinese meat market during COVID. She was emaciated. As I’ve been reporting, China-owned Smithfield Foods is actively lobbying the US Senate to pass the pro-CCP “Save Our Bacon Act” to overturn existing US state animal protection laws and force extreme cruelty and abuse on farm animals in our country."
"And don’t ever forget that China’s animal tests in a PLA-linked lab funded by Anthony Fauci created and unleashed the COVID bioweapon that killed over 1.2 million Americans," she added.
Laura Loomer has been open about her love for animals and her rescued dogs over the years. She also revealed in another post that she rescued another dog last week.
A look at China Daily's claims that led to Laura Loomer's rant against them

On World Animal Day, i.e., October 4, China Daily spoke about the reported conservation efforts in China. They shared some numbers from May this year and wrote:
"Every Oct 4 marks #WorldAnimalDay. This year's theme is "See the World Through Their Eyes". In China, official figures released by the National Forestry and Grassland Administration in May show the results of that perspective-taking:• 200+ endangered species in restorative growth • 100+ threatened plant species protected • 80%+ protected species coverage • A record 5.059 million overwintering waterbirds."
"Seeing through their eyes is not only a gesture of empathy – it is shaping conservation outcomes," they added.
Laura Loomer and some other users slammed this post by China Daily, accusing China of animal abuse.
The far-right activist, meanwhile, shared another post celebrating World Animal Day. She labeled herself a "passionate animal advocate", adding that she loves her rescued dogs and hates animal abusers.
Loomer added that she has also worked with the Donald Trump administration for animals. She claimed that she has helped "cut nearly $100 million in taxpayer-funded animal testing."
