It seems that Sid Wilson is signing off his career with Slipknot on Instagram.

The seasoned DJ, who has been a part of the masked metal band since its inception days, has made changes to his Instagram bio recently.

Sid Wilson's Instagram bio used to mention that he has been with the "gang since 1997."

Now, it reads "1997-2026," seemingly signaling the end of his nearly 30-year run with the group.

The change occurred immediately after Slipknot announced that they would stop working with the DJ and keyboardist. The band made the statement on Friday, Aug. 14, on Instagram.

"Effective immediately, Slipknot will no longer be associated with Sid Wilson. We wish him the best in his future endeavors."

The caption also stated:

"Slipknot have parted ways with Sid Wilson. The announcement could briefly be found on the band's website."

The original announcement appeared on the band's own social media site, but was soon deleted and re-announced via Knotfest, the official Instagram account for a music festival that has ties to Slipknot.

TMZ had earlier reported that Wilson was booted out of Slipknot for good after reports that he had been acting badly towards other members of the nu metal band.

Wilson has not yet elaborated on why there was a rift or what has happened leading to his exit. The band has not been very informative either regarding their reasoning for letting go.

His Instagram update therefore stands as one of the clearest indications from the keyboardist himself that his time with Slipknot has ended.

Wilson joined Slipknot in 1997 and became one of the group's most recognizable members, performing under the name DJ Starscream. He remained with the band through its rise from the late 1990s metal scene to international success, appearing on numerous albums and tours.

Sid Wilson and Kelly Osbourne's breakup: A quick recap of their relationship

The departure also comes after Wilson's breakup with Osbourne after four years. The couple had been friends for a long time, which began when they met on the Ozzfest tour.

In 2022, they confirmed their relationship, and then they welcomed their first child, Sidney, later that year.

The former couple got engaged in July 2025.

Wilson and Osbourne, however, separated in March 2026.

Months after calling off their engagement, Kelly Osbourne took to her Instagram to post scathing messages about an unnamed ex—widely assumed to be Sid Wilson.

"Wake the f*** up and take some responsibility I will not take your s*** anymore! I'm done. I want to be happy and I have a beautiful son to raise. Leave me alone. Let me heal. I can't protect you from yourself anymore."
