According to a recent news reports, retired professional football player Terell Owens accused his longtime manager Heather Mesalam of stealing money from him and his business.

Owens bought years of financial trauma and distrust back into the public eye by sharing screenshots and reciepts on social media as he accused his former manager whom he has worked with for the last 15 years.

Terell Owens has a net worth of around $500 thousand as per Celebrity Net Worth. From 1996 to 2010, Terrell Owens was an NFL player; he briefly returned in 2012.

Terell Owens described Mesalam as "a liar and a thief" and stated that she is "no longer working for me in any capacity" in the caption of his social media post.

“A PERSON CAN ONLY TAKE SO MUCH!” wrote Owens. “When you’re managing someone’s affairs and getting paid to do it, you have to be accountable for it!”

Terell Owens continued by saying that he considered going public with the issue before choosing to deal with it on his own. He wrote, "If 'I' had stolen from someone, I'd be ALL OVER the news," citing ESPN and sports media figures who, in his opinion, would closely examine him in a similar situation.

He wrote, "It's stuff like this that people don't see. As athletes, it's what sets us off."

Mesalam's monthly management salary allegedly went from $1,300 to $1,500 without his consent, according to the screenshots Owens posted. Terell Owens apparently challenged her directly in a text exchange, adding, "Without my knowledge... that's stealing."

Years after Terell Owens openly talked about losing millions during and after his NFL career, the argument arose. In earlier interviews, he talked of trusting reps and financial consultants who mishandled his money, including the impact from former agents Drew and Jason Rosenhaus and financial advisor Jeff Rubin.

Rubin was connected to a larger financial fraud that affected other NFL players and allegedly resulted in losses of over $40 million between 2008 and 2011.
